Unfortunately, on first use, there was a tiny bit of excess glue that stuck to the lens barrel every time it closed and stopped the lens extending without a bit of a manual jiggle. I removed the excess glue with the tip of a craft knife when I got home and it now works perfectly. Obviously, you have to be gentle fixing the filters, don't screw too hard or you could damage the lens - it wasn't designed for this! But, if you are careful, it works perfectly and the adapter fits snugly against the body as if it had always been there. I am very happy with it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It makes a compact camera lens ‘permanently’ larger so loses some of the compactness *by B***E on 16 September 2018* I used this on my Sony RX100M3. It sticks on and works perfectly well. The only negative really is that because it is permanently in place it essentially makes the diameter of the end of the lens larger. Although that isn’t necessarily a problem, in my case it means the camera catches as it’s put into its case...and in fact some previously OK cases wouldn’t fit any more.So whilst it works as it should, I’ve since bought the M6 and am using a 58mm Magfilter adapter on that. Although there’s a risk of the filter unit being knocked off, it’s a far better solution in my view because all that is fixed to the camera is a slender ferrous ring/washer which is pretty much invisible and doesn’t affect the camera dimensions in real terms when the filter adapter itself isn’t being used.So of the two systems, to me the Magfilter is better although it’s about double the price of the Kiwifotos adapter. That doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with the latter, simply that the former is better. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very pleased with this *by R***7 on 13 January 2014* I love my Sony RX100 but! no screw thread for filters. Don't despair this little adhesive ring will do the job admirably. Great care must be taken to ensure the peel off adhesive ring is aligned exactly to the filter ring and camera and once pressed into position it is stuck fast and looks just like part of the camera and still fits comfortably in it leather case if a filter in not left attached. It does look a little odd when the camera is switched on and the lens barrel extended, because you now have a 55mm flange at the end of your lens barrel. This is not a problem for me because the fact that I can now use filters over rides this. The filter attachment finish matched the camera perfectly and is not noticeable in the closed turned off position. A good solution for the discerning photographer who wants the benefit of attaching filters.
