Amazing MG with RG armour detail and colour separation.
A lot of gundam builders would have built this years ago and probably built quite a few MGs to compare it too. This is my second MG (First being the Wing Zero EW), I mostly buy RG kits and the occasional HG. I'd been meaning to add the RX 78 2 to my collection since I got in to gunpla but was not sure with of the wide range available I would get. I was going to get the RG, but then found out the MG was basically the same kit but bigger and better. I was not disappointed. The kit was extremely fun to build with plenty of gimmicks and parts to make the build last (I've still yet to finish weathering the weapons and shield) I especially love the fully articulated hands, I wish Bandai did more MG kits like this. There are lots of reviews online that show off the articulation, detail, and gimmicks so they're worth checking out before you buy. The only down sides to this kit are: No water slide or dry transfer decals, only stickers (Some are worth using though). The elbow joints can be hard to put together for in experienced builders and need to taken back apart if you intend to paint after assembling. The shoulder armours can pop out if you don't fully push the polly cap all the way in when building the inner frame, it can be a real pain to get them back on. The waist is a little wobbly, but not a massive deal. This kit comes with an LED so no need to buy separately, however, the one I bought separately was better quality and brighter than the one it came with.

Needed to get a Granddaddy Gundam in my collection
Haven't ever built a Rx78-2 yet, wanted to add one to my collection. Saw this one and went for the MG 1/100. Very good kit, fun to build as well!

fully assembled it is just amazing looking and super posable
Not a kit for beginners - I built this as my third and I honestly wish I'd had a little more experienced. It is complicated and fiddly, more so than some of the older MGs. However, fully assembled it is just amazing looking and super posable. If you have the skills and experience to build, I highly recommend it.

Decent with some issues
Some parts of the build are unclear on the instructions and some parts (especially teh forearm armour and the elbow joints) either dont fit together properly, attatch too loosely and come apart with little/no contact. overall, i would say that you'd be better off going with the RG as its better value for money but if you want a version of the rx-78-2 in every grade then this would make a great display piece just dont try to pose it too much.

Stunning kit - went together flawlessly as expected from Bandai ...
Stunning kit - went together flawlessly as expected from Bandai. Did purchase waterslide decals to go with it as I fully painted mine but even out of the box it would turn into an impressive model.

My first Gundam gunpla
I've built quite a few different master grades prior to this one but they have all been the mass produced suit versions. As my first actually Gundam I don't think I could have chosen a better kit. The level of detail is great and the articulation is superb. Master grades 1/100 scale are the best kits going unless you've got money to spend of the PGs at larger scales.

some lose bits
only problem "and this is just a bandai kit thing" some part can be lose but i just glue or tighten up offending parts using online methods and every thing is good to go, you just have to be patent when building the kits.

Great product but poor packaging
Was really looking forward to receiving this and its great but sadly it was packaged in a flimsy plastic package. For something fragile being shipped from another country, they could at least use some bubble wrap or padding to avoid the damage in the photos.
