Brilliant size for teaching children to knit.

There are lots of kits available for children to learn to knit, but all you really need are these needles and a ball of wool. They're good quality and the cat heads are appealing.

I was put off by a lot of reviews about how bendy they are. I can see a lot of reasons why that would be troublesome. But I'm trying to teach 5yos to knit and the fact that they bend so much makes it much easier to knit further down the needles which prevents them losing stitches. I've also had cheaper bendier needles and these are bendy in a way that's controllable.I also tend to go for metal needles as I find the ease of movement of the stitches necessary for moving the work around the needles. These are rubber which actually makes that harder. It's a pain for an experienced knitter to deal with super bendy frictional needles, but again, a 5yo is less likely to lose stitches because they can work further down the needles and bend the tip into stitches and the stitches don't tend to just slip themselves off the end when you fumble. The different colours help me to direct the children without taking over and they love the little cat faces. They're also shorter so easier for small hands.Very pleased with my purchase.

My grandson wanted to learn to knit so I chose these needles because they were two colours and they were a good length for him to handle as a beginner

Needed child size needles in a hurry & these were the only option available for immediate delivery. The needles are as described but the plastic is very cheap and likely to snap easily. The points are not smooth so snag the yarn and flex in use. The surface is not smooth so the stitches do not slide easily along the needles which makes it more difficult for young learners to master the skills they need. Plan ahead and order aluminium needles instead - the quality is so much better.
