MerrellMen's Moab 3 Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot

A great waterproof hiker. True to size, great support, and comfortable out of the box. I bought these specifically because I routinely have to cross swollen creeks during the winter. I've been to the local National Forest several times and have crossed streams several times at this point, with absolutely no water ingress. The soles provide great traction on the slippery rocks, and the mid-height upper provides excellent ankle support, which is an historic challenge for me. The boots also seem very well constructed. Overall very pleased with this purchase.

Despite countless hikes through rugged terrain, including rocky slopes and abrasive surfaces, these boots have held up remarkably well. The tough outsole provides excellent traction on various surfaces, giving me the confidence to tackle challenging trails without hesitation.In terms of price, I don't think you can get much better then this for you unless you get lucky at a goodwill or fb marketplace.In summary, if you're in the market for a dependable hiking boot that can handle the plains and mountains, look no further than these boots. I've been wearing Merrell Mid hiking shoes since 2016. My previous two pairs were Moab 2, and I've been very happy with the wear, fit and waterproof qualities. Right out of the box, I noticed that the Moab 3 looks to be even sturdier then the Moab 2. The sole has a more aggressive tread and the toe and heel are more reinforced. The fit is sturdy and the insert seems to have a more significant arch support. I read some reviews reporting that the sizing runs a little small, and I notice that they seem to fit snug, but that might be because they are new.Some reviews report that they are not waterproof; as of this writing, I haven't had an opportunity to test that facet. I don't use Merrell's for necessarily just hiking, but more of a daily wear during the colder seasons and inclement weather (although I do occasionally hike with these). They have always been very comfortable, so I am looking forward to the Moab 3. I will update this review, once I have experienced wet conditions and after a break-in period.

The shoes seem to be very sturdy and comfortable. I had some worries about the fit as some reviewers claimed that they run small, but this seems not to be the case. I usually wear 10 for sneakers and that is what I ordered and they fit perfectly.My only complaint is about the shipping - it took about one week for them to ship the package out. Not that I cannot wait, but still seems a bit too slow.

I was always doubtful, after reading many reviews about hiking boots, and I wanted to make the right purchase and be satisfied. I concluded that I should order half a size larger, so as not to make a mistake and to be sure that they would fit me accurately and comfortably. After looking at several different brands and models of boots, both due to price and previous experience with a model that I really liked, I decided on the Merrell Men's Moab 3 Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot, and I use them very often in my daily activities, and from the moment I received them, they fit me perfectly, comfortable and precise with the arch of my feet, they allow good ventilation, when walking on steep terrain they grip the ground firmly; I clean them easily after use in dusty or swampy areas, I still have to try them on long walks and see their performance, but so far with a few weeks of use I feel that they are perfect for me.

What's not to love. Great fit, great tread, great traction. Perfectly waterproof. Walked through running creeks and stayed dry the entire time. Really hugs your foot. Buy a bit larger if you like thick socks or the right size if you like the secure feeling of a close fit.

These are the comfiest boots I've ever worn.Fits true to size. Athletes/Bears, get a Wide.Needs no breaking in. Feet dry, not too hot.Most efficient Vibram pattern for grip/shock.Toebox so flexible, could do parkour in these..

My Timberland hiking boots reached end of their life and I decided to try these boots.They are true to size, fairly light and comfortable. They are definitely NOT waterproof (I didn't expect them to be because of the material they're made of).They look very good (way better than newer models!) and I am very happy with my purchase.

Realmente todo me gustó, diseño, calidad, comodidad, ligeras, por su diseño cuando pisas tu pie queda firme protegien el tobillo. Ahora que hace mucho frío no se me enfrían los pies.

I ordered size 8.5. I needed a half size up from my normal 8 and I could not find that in any shop in the UK so I went online and Amazon had it. When they arrived they were size 8. What? A close inspection of the box revealed that the UK8 is America's 8.5 but the ordering box on the Amazon website made no distinction between UK and US sizing. It simply stated 8 and then 8.5. So now I had to decide whether to return or to keep so the next hour was spent making sure that the lacing was how I needed it to be to accommodate my wide feet while wearing thick socks and eventually I got there. I still have to do a serious hike in the weather that will put them to a real test but I do have better comfort for these than I have had from my previous walking shoes. Not perfect because I wanted 8.5 and 9 would have been too big, but certainly better. Now I will have to replace the laces. They are the round sort rather than flat and round ones always slip so have to be double-bowed. I know the manufacturer thinks this makes them easier to put on and fit snugly but in practice, it means they become loose too easily and get sucked off in the mud. That is really average terrain hiking in the UK. If it had not been for a gift card that had brought the price down for me on this purchase, I would have gone through the returns process. Good enough to keep and use but not my perfect pair of shoes and will not be buying them again unless they really do have a UK8.5wide.
