Well made, sturdy power pack. See my comments about plugged-in USB hubs!
A very robust power pack but the charge lights don't give you much confidence. The instructions are not very clear and contain many warnings and caveats that reduce your confidence still further. When my power pack was delivered both green charge lights were on, suggesting it was fully charged. The instructions contained severe warnings about over-charging so I was unsure how to proceed. I telephoned the manufacturers and spoke a very helpful and understanding senior engineer who told me it was OK and won't need charging. After 14 months the two green lights still show a full charge and I have not felt the need to recharge it. And today, after 14 months of the power pack being stored unused in the back of my car, I found myself parked next to a fairly old car with a flat battery. They had failed to jump-start it from another car so I offered to try the power pack. Here was a good test. It had been stored for 14 months with no additional charging and the car started immediately! Finally, note this power pack will only work if there is at least 7 volts remaining in the car battery. If you need a power pack that works on a completely dead battery expect to pay at least £200. (UPDATE October 2018: Only one charge light illuminated so charged it for 36 hours. The original charge lasted for 26 months (including starting one car). Very impressed.) The power-pack is solid and well made - and most importantly it worked like a dream after 14 months! A final note. Other reviewers claim it is a waste of money because the power pack rapidly loses charge when stored with a USB hub plugged into the cigarette lighter outlet, even though nothing was connected to the hub. This is NOT a fault of the power pack! A USB hub contains a voltage divider circuit (usually with a voltage regulator) to reduce the voltage from 12 volts to 5 volts - the voltage delivered by a USB hub. Voltage divider and regulator circuits always draw continuous low current even when nothing is connected. This will drain the battery within a few days. So please don't blame the power pack! The rule is DON'T store the power pack with anything plugged into the cigarette lighter outlet - especially a USB hub.

could do with 12v charge lead.
overall a good product but only has 240v mains charger, other boosters I looked at came with a 12v in car(in my case) van charger as well so as to keep it charged when on the road and in constant use for my work. have tried a search for one but cant seem to find anything that is approved for this unit.

Bad quality plastic case.
Delivered with plastic case cracked. Product is badly packed by manufacturer only in cardboard box nothing else inside. Easy to be damage in transport. Returned and ordered second one which came next day with even more damage. Both returned and won't buy anything again from this brand.

Started my totally dead (many months dead) 2.0 Saab easily
I got this yesterday. The packaging had me worried (it was clearly not brand new as the foam insert was missing from the box (apart from a couple of broken bits of foam). The box was battered and had been taped by hand (i.e. not factory packaging). But... it worked great so far. It Already had some charge and just needed 1-2 hours to get fully charged (watch out these can be overcharged which might be dangerous...you have to keep an eye on it). I used it today to start my old Saab93 2.0 petrol, which had been left standing for many months (so the battery WAS 100% dead, no electrics were working on the car at all, and not even a click when trying to start it). It started my Saab first time, very easily...like a brand new battery. So I'm happy. (It's worth noting that not all power packs will start a totally dead battery. I recently returned a Ring powerpack because it had a 'feature' which required some amount of charge to be present in the car battery in order to make a connection. So watch out if you're looking at other brands like Ring). I would have given this 5 stars except for 2 small points - 1. The jump leads are very short... so the unit has to be stood on your car under the bonnet in order to reach. However, the shape makes it pretty stable and grippy so it wasn't hard to find a place to stand it where it wouldn't fall. 2. As I mentioned, the packaging wasn't great on this so I wonder if I've bought a used unit. Although I suppose it's possible it was ex display or just using an old box for some reason. (and it seems like all the parts were present in the box...so can't complain too much). Again, it works great on a 2.0 litre petrol with a completely dead battery...so I'm happy. TIP - You need to connect the negative clip to the car chassis or engine block (not the battery negative)... there's a light on this unit which should go green when you've made the connection. I noticed my light was yellow for a while until I found a better place to connect the negative clip...and then the light changed to a more greeny colour (although it's a bit hard to see the difference), so if you get one and don't get any power first time, try moving the negative to a better connection on the chassis (I found a bolt on the inner wing worked).

It does its job. (MX5 2.0)
I used it on my MX5 with 2.0 litre engine and it worked on the first attempt. It was as though I jump start it using jump cables linked to other car. The battery was not completely flat, it still was able to support the lights but not able to start the engine. Before buying I had doubts about the cables and clamps it had, but they are better than on the pictures. Packaging was adequate, the instructions were sufficient to me but I have quite experience in jump starting cars with flat battery. People who never did it before my benefit from watching some general instruction video first. I bought it recently so I cannot say how often does it need recharging or how other functions work.

Not as good as the modern li-ion power packs.
Failed to start my 2ltr diesel engine several times, even though it was fully charged beforehand. Unfortunately, I only found this out 2 1/2 months after purchase, so too late to return it. (bummer!)
