Tracey Mallett's F.I.T. Functional Intensity Training

Great workout!
This is my first Tracy Mallett workout, and it is amazing! The workouts themselves are pretty short, about 30-35 minutes each including the warm-up, but there is a lot packed into there. You don't really stop moving at all. It is just Tracey in the video, no other demonstrators, and she does the work-outs with you the whole time. There is a little window that pops up at the beginning of most of the exercises that shows a simpler alternative to the exercise though, which I admit I had to use a couple times. There are a lot of exercises that are very effective that I have never seen before, and I love it! The only negative for me was how perky and happy she was during the video. I like a more aggressive approach to it, and her bubbly persona got kind of annoying, especially towards the end when I felt like my body was going spontaneously combust. It is not annoying enough for me to stop doing these workouts though. They are amazing!

Ok for a quick workout
I have only been through the full disc once, so maybe I need more time to grow to "love it." I do love that each workout is short, but some of the moves are very unnatural. For example, one movement in the full body workout requires something like a one-leg squat with a side leg lift and a shoulder move--all in one. It's awkward (and an inexperienced person could probably get hurt). I have noticed similar things in other short workout videos, though. I suppose the intent is to use as many muscles as possible with each move to keep it short while still calling it a "total body workout." I think Jackie Warner is a bit better, but I will continue to use this video.

Gettin' F.I.T. .... oh yeah!
I have been working out actively with Tracey Mallett's BootyBarre Burn 60 day challenge. Then I continued her workouts after the challenge was over. After 4 months building strength I finally got the courage to workout to this video. I purchased this video to change up my circuit training routine which was only 1 class. I added it to my weekly workout x 2. WOW! just amazing. The whole video takes my breath away. I had to build up to this class and I am so glad that I did. Its not for the faint of heart. Tracey gives heart, laughs and toughness all together. Most of the time I have to breakup the classes. I prefer to do the 1st and 3rd workout together for a total body workout. I will also workout to the 2nd and 3rd class. I can only devote an hour in the mornings for my workouts. The whole DVD is a great workout and when I have the energy to get my booty kicked, I go for the whole thing. I would highly recommend this video for endurance, circuit training and ripping that body. There are modification sections but I enjoy pushing myself even more. Get F.I.T. with Tracey ... it's very true!

OK
For some reason I'm not loving this as much as I hoped. It's not hard to follow or anything, it just doesn't hold my interest much. It does give a good workout though,

Fantastic Workout!
I purchased this after reading the reviews on Amazon about the video, good and bad. I'm glad I did not listen to the bad reviews and not purchase. The core workout is 14 minutes, the lower body is 31 minutes and the total body is 33 minutes. When I combine the total body and core workout I burn almost 300 calories in under 40 minutes. Yes, she does engage your lower back, but just modify it. I had back surgery in 1997, so I'm picky about workouts as sometimes certain types will aggravate my back. So with Tracey's workout, I simply modify and still get an effective workout and a great calorie burn. For example, instead of doing plank holds with leg raises on my feet, I do them on my knees so I don't strain my back. If you're looking for a shorter, effecive workout that will leave you sore the next day then this is a must buy! I use this during the week when I have to work and can't do a complete 60 to 80 minute workout. FYI, I just ordered her other two workouts (New Body and Barre Arms/Abs) because I love this one so much!

FIT by Tracey Mallet
Usually love Tracey's circuit workouts; however, this one fell very short of her previous releases. Compound weight training moves alternated with cardio segments that were mainly performed on the mat...either as burpies or mountain climber moves. Not a fan of these movements, as they tend to be hard on the back and knees. There are many other cardio options that she could have incorporated instead. Did not enjoy alternating between standing and floorwork throughout both workouts. All of this aside, it follows the standard HIIT format, which escalates the heart rate and brings on the sweat using bursts of high intensity training, followed by active recoveries.

I love this DVD
I love this DVD. I love Tracy's British accent, and her cheery, can-do spirit. I Googled her, and think she's about 41 with 3 children; needless to say, she looks AMAZE BALLS! The only workout I've done so far is Total Body Burn, which is a mixture of some cardio and light weights, depending on your preference. For the entire workout, there are essentially no breaks, except when she does jumping jacks on the floor horizontally; she takes 10 second breaks between sets. Otherwise, you're moving non-stop the entire workout. Be aware of one thing: On the packaging, it says Total Body Burns is 25 minutes, when in fact it's 33 minutes; I timed it. When I did it the first time, I checked the clock before I started, and when 25 minutes were up, she was still going. 30 minutes, still going; finally, at 33 minutes, the DVD cut off abruptly without any cool down or salutation by Tracy. It was obvious they had gone over the time limited indicated. I follow her on Facebook, and she's always uploading great, really effective new moves in short videos. I'll order more of her DVDs soon!
