I made this creche out of 1/2 inch trim and 1/4 inch boards with a few various bits of trim here and there. I exclusively used this cutter, no saws or jigs were use. Most of what I used was cheap White Pine, but there was a small amount of Ceder and Oak trim as well. Everything cut perfectly. I do recommend getting the Dremel extender so you're not having to hold the entire Dremel and can get a bit closer to the wood. For the most part I had no problems with it over heating and burning the wood. There were a few times I ran into a nail and it shot sparks, but it wasn't enough to damage the tool. I am really impressed with this little guy. Now I want to do more wood projects! I recommend it completely. Gives your Dremel a whole new life in wood working.
