As a senior IT system administrator I cannot make heads or tails of how to configure this radio to do anything beyond analog. The code plug programming software has an overwhelming amount of things that must be tied together for everything to work well. I am only relating my experience, but I haven't had a ton of time to sit down and focus on programming this radio because of a few things: 2 small children, a demanding job, and limited availability of DMR repeaters in the area to test against if they are even still operational at all, which I cannot confirm as the repeater owners in the online directory for our area do not respond to contact, if you can even find contact info for them. The radio build quality is top notch. The screen is clear and the battery life in leaving it idle was good.
