have the ingredients changed since october 2014 as the comments stated from unsatisfied customers?

I don't know exactly when, but the ingredients shown for the 90 tablet bottle DID change. I ordered 7/22/2015 after seeing this has dextrose, but I was disappointed to see xylitol instead.

Why is there xylitol in this product; it relaxes the esophageal sphincter which causes more acid to enter the esophagus?

Overly sensitive people with acid reflux might react to a very small amount of xylitol, but I find it suitable for me. Xylitol has many positive health effects and it is very natural product. I cannot tolerate stevia and the horrible trend to use it everywhere. I think xylitol is far better option. Licorice is naturally sweet. I don't know, why there would need to be a sweetener.

Why xylitol and stevia? stevia would have been fine but i can't take xylitol! why woudl they put two sweeteners in it?

Well.... I am not a medical doctor, but I am a nutritionist and I do study Herbs... so my educated answer is licorice root is very bitter and doesn’t taste good at all. Copious amounts of stevia upset most people’s intestinal tract, and so they chose xylitol for additional assistance ridding these tablets of the horrible taste that would have without sweeteners. I don’t know what exactly your issue is, but these things resolved my ulcer issue (using additional herbs along with these) and I highly recommend them to anyone who has no problem with xylitol.
