Phenomenal!
I do a lot of inking and, as such, have a myriad of pens. To give you some background, I have: two Rotring Rapidograph College Sets, 4 Pilot Parallel Pens, the full line of Copic Multiliner SP, a Pentel Pocket Brush and Large Brush Pen, a Rotring Variant Varioscript set from the 60s and a box of Microns somewhere.I've always liked the reliability and build quality of the Rotrings, but they can be a hassle to clean, so my go-to pens are typically the Multiliner SP and the Pentel Pocket Brush. I have a standard crow quill that I use occasionally, but I'm lazy so I don't get it, and the ink well, out as much as I should. I recently stumbled upon this and decided to give it a try. It lives up to my expectations and the Rotring name. As other reviews have mentioned, it takes a bit to break in. Apply some pressure to get those thick blacks and soon the tension on the tip will ease up a bit. I love the versatility of it. It's like having several technical pens in one. I no longer have to bring a handful of multiliners with me on the go. I grab the ArtPen and my Pentel Pocket Brush and I'm set. As another reviewer mentioned, you can flip the pen over to get finer lines (brilliant suggestion!). It's lightweight but solid and easy to throw in your backpack or pocket.Ink is the nice deep blacks I expect from Rotring. You can buy the cartridge refills or the inkwell converter. I opted for the converter as it's cheaper and less wasteful. The pen comes with two cartridges so you have some time to decided. Cartridge longevity is impressive. You can put Rotring ink in the converter or buy your favorite brand and use it. Absolutely in love with the pen!

Not an everyday carry, great artists tool and fine penmanship
love this pen, performs its job well, some dislike you can't post cap, but shape allows users technique to show through. This is not a shirt pocket pen, just put the cap back when you are done.

Very nice!
This is a lovely drawing tool. I bought it with "Fine Nib" for ink drawings. Lightweight, very good balance. Smooth ink flow. Very happy with this purchase!

Pen is good quality
This was a gift for my 12-yr old granddaughter who wanted a small heavier sketchbook and this pen to take in her backpack to school every day. She loves the pen, but I had to show her how to fill and use a fountain pen--she had never seen one before. My only disappointment with the pen is that it came with only 2 ink cartridges.

A great drawing pen
A great drawing pen...will work at once without skipping even if you don't use it for weeks. The ink is water soluble which probably accounts for it not skipping or clogging. A bit of a challenge if you use watercolor over your drawing. Great pen!!!

These are great pens
These are great pens. I own several in different sizes. They consistently provide smooth lines and never clog up unlike so many pens out there. The balance is nice and it is easy to clean. I hope they never stop making them. I am a professional artist and designer. Been using these for many years.

OK for sketching, but not for final art.
Nice for sketching, but not for final art. The supplied ink is not waterproof and is not nearly as black as india ink, and the online instructions (none are supplied with the pen) warn against using permanent ink with this pen. Also, the nib is very stiff and is therefore not nearly as expressive as say, a hunt #102 (crow quill) dip nib.

ArtPen Fine Nib, I recommend it.
The fine nib, works as a standard fountain pen nib, with interchangeable calligraphy nibs available for this pen.Feels good to hold and writes very smoothly.
