Get what you get, feels a little thinner than i expected. But i am tall and heavy, so i imagine this is less of an issue for smaller people.

I read a lot of people romanticizing how they adjusted to this quickly and humans evolved to sleep on the hard ground with minimal padding and I want to throw that all out the window lol. I grew up in Japan as a kid and returned to visit as an adult and slept on a HARD bed in a hotel. It’s not fun I had mine on TWO CARPETS then slept on it for a few months and boy I got the pains. You do adjust to it after a while but sleep is so important. It wasn’t for me and may not be for you. But as a futon in a pinch it will work. Just be ready to stretch the next morning lol.

I had never tried a mat like this, but needed a portable sleeping alternative while traveling. This fit the bill. It’s firm, yet enough padding to erase a cold, hard floor feeling. I put it through a test this past week and was happy with the results. New pillow, as my bed pillows had too much filled. I will test a few more pillows to adjust for my personal needs. The bed roll was not too heavy to move around or pack, mostly long/tall. Awkward, but doable. My full size takes a bit of room in my SUV. I slept better each night. I am pleased with this purchase. If your family gatherings means a place on the floor, do it with some comfort.

Padding is good and feels just like a firm bed when placing on carpeted floor. Got a full and, being 5'10", was large enough to cover the space I needed.

I read the other reviews before I ordered. So I took a chance. I would truthfully say that the futon mattress is sooo comfortable. I used it as an additional layer to my sofa bed, what a huge difference!!!! The first night, instantly I slept like a baby! I would definitely recommend. Rolling up the mattress, it's a bit of work, but once you have an method, it's not so bad.

A lot of people left negative reviews regarding the thickness of the mattress and I just want to say you need to lower your expectations about how cushy a futon mattress is supposed to be. Im very content to sleep on it and it’s much thicker than a traditional futon mattress. If you want something thicker then go buy a blowup mattress :/ I will say my one main complaint is the fabric is pretty cheap and it’s comfortable but easily ripped. I’d venture to say it may not be worth the price bc of the quality of the materials but you sort of have to expect that if you’re gonna buy from an aMazøN seller. This was the closest I found to what I wanted and it’s GOOD ENOUGH!

We actually got this to go on our couch that pulls out for when we have company. That way there's more padding for our guests to sleep on. The futon itself is quite nice. It takes awhile to 'spread its wings' after unpacking, but it does eventually fluff up. However, the carrying bag it's supposed to go in, is a piece of junk. It ripped at the top as I was putting the folded up futon inside of it. It's like it's made of paper, and we'll probably have to throw that part out. I don't know why they couldn't have made a nice canvas carrying bag instead.
