The pre-moistened cloths cut through heavy tarnish almost instantly. I used them on a silver tray that had turned almost black, and it was glowing within minutes. • Versatile & Gentle: I’ve used these on silver, gold, brass, copper, and stainless steel. They are tough on oxidation but gentle enough that I’m not worried about scratching delicate surfaces. • Pleasant Scent: Unlike most metal polishes that smell like harsh chemicals or ammonia, these have a really nice, subtle vanilla scent. It takes a lot of elbow grease to restore work stainless steel surfaces to something resembling their original shine - but it does eventually come surprisingly close! It took me about two hours to polish up a 25 year old Breitling wristwatch with stainless steel casing and strap. The brilliance of the shine it achieves is easily equal to a brand new watch. Note, however, that anything deeper than micro-scratches resulting from mild abrasions will of course not be removed. The end result is a watch that is remarkably shiny, but if you look closely there are scratches that do catch the light at certain angles. However, because the edges of those scratches are no longer sharp, but will have been smoothed by the polishing - it doesn't really detract from the look. For someone sitting at a conversation distance from the wearer, it essentially looks indistinguishable from a new watch purchased yesterday. I'd say that's a very impressive result for 2 hours worth of work! Cons: - The vanilla smell is strong, but tolerable. Not exactly pleasant, nor entirely unpleasant. If used in a closed room the smell will hang around, but will dissipate in about a day. - Polishing generates a huge amount of suspended metal dust on the cloth. You can polish one wristwatch with with a cloth, but no more than that. If I do it again, I'll wear gloves. It took two days of washing before my hands were not visibly grey anymore. - The cloth material wears away during polishing, so almost half of the cloth was gone by the time I'd polished one watch. It might be better for watches with smoother surfaces. The Breitling watches I worked on all had tiny screw heads protruding in a number places around the casings. These do grab fibres from the cloth from time to time, and wear it down. - The package description was wrong at the time of purchase - it said quantity 32. However, the package contained only 2 cloths! A huge discrepancy. I complained about this, hopefully it will be fixed by the time you read this.

I didn’t expect these to work as well as they do. The Cape Cod Metal Polishing Cloths make tarnish disappear in minutes and leave a deep, mirror-like shine without much effort. I’ve used them on a range of items — they’ve actually made small scuffs and surface scratches way less noticeable, sometimes almost completely gone. One cloth goes a long way they are very durable don’t fall apart, and the resealable packet keeps the rest fresh for months. They also have a nice, subtle smell. If you like your jewellery looking new again without harsh chemicals or endless polishing, these are absolutely worth it.

This stuff is amazing! I treated myself to a Tag Heuer watch 6 months ago which I wear daily. It had a couple of marks on the bezel around the watch face that we're really annoying me. 10 mins with this cloth and they are now a thing of the past. Super impressive and worth every penny!

Suite à un choc qui a rayé le contour en titane de ma Garmin Fenix 8, j’ai utilisé les lingettes de polissage CAPE COD pour éliminer la rayure. Après avoir soigneusement protégé la zone à traiter avec du scotch de protection bleu (type peinture), les lingettes ont parfaitement fait leur travail : la rayure a disparu. En revanche, le polissage laisse logiquement un rendu brillant. Pour retrouver l’aspect brossé d’origine du titane, j’ai ensuite utilisé un stylo en fibre de verre, qui m’a permis de recréer la finition initiale. Résultat final : un contour comme neuf. Les lingettes sont très efficaces pour le polissage, à condition de compléter avec l’outil adapté si l’on souhaite conserver l’aspect brossé du titane.
