Excellent value HDMI lead
HDMI is a digital interface, therefore the data either arrives intact or not. For short leads (less than 3m) in a home environment (low levels of electrical interference), there is no requirement for high quality (expensive) cabling. In practice the quality of the connector contacts is the critical issue and this lead has perfectly acceptable connectors - they must be gold plated to avoid corrosion and future poor contact resistance. If the data is corrupted due to a poor cable or connector, you'll know about it on your screen. Small amounts of corruption (eg caused by interference) will still result in obvious picture defects. If these are evident, double check that all connectors are fully inserted and there is no damage to the cable. Always keep the leads as short as possible to reduce clutter and minimise pick-up of interference.Happily, the lead being reviewed here suffered from no quality problems and gave perfect results.Moral of the HDMI story: for the normal connections around your TV and player/recorder system(s), BUY THE CHEAPEST LEAD WITH GOLD PLATED CONTACTS that you can find.

Good performer at an excellent price
Whilst some will argue that you need far superior cables to make the most of your AV hardware, you only have to look at what is supplied by most equipment manufacturers (STB, Blu-Ray Player etc...) Yes they want to keep costs down, but the cables work and are of decent enough quality. This cable may be cheap and cheerful, but is well made and performs admirably. Picture and sound from a HTPC graphics card to Sony TV is more than adequate.

Basic kit that works beautifully.
Basic no-frills HDMI cables that don't look flashy, but do the job they are supposed to do very well. Why pay loads of money for excessive gold plating and fancy cable sheathing when these cables will give you just as good a picture! Unlike analogue signals, digital info is far less prone to being affected by conductor quality. A friend of mine has a flashy £25 HDMI cable and I temporarily replaced it with one of these when he doubted that my cheap cable would be as good. Both of us could not see a difference in the audio or video when we compared the 2 cables! Enough said!I like the 1M length as my Blu-ray player and Media centre PC sit under my TV so the short length means there are no unsightly cables snaking around the rear of the AV stand - keeps things a lot neater. The price for these cables is great and delivery was in 3 days. Al things considered, it looks like a "win-win" scenario if you ask me!

GOOD QUALITY AND WORKS PROPERLY
Bought at full cost, when I write a review you get the truth, good bad and ugly as it applies. Bought to go with the installation of up to date TV and Laptop connections. I bought several cables of differing lengths alongside connectors (to take out and about with my laptop in order) to allow chop and change lengths as appropriate whilst mobile as I do a lot of travelling. These cables are good quality and work absolutely fine. The cables are good comparative value especially beside high street prices. I would buy these again if needed

Great Price and Value
I bought this because Comet wanted me to pay £30 for one, and not being in need of a psychiatrist, told them what to do with theirs!! Bought one from my local supermarket, but looked on amazon and all the information about HDMI cables on the web, and thought I would get a cheap one to see what difference there would be between a £10 one and this one for £2.29. Guess what, none!!! The picture on my telly is exactly the same with both, no loss of quality nor sound. Why you would want to spend £30 on a cable instead of £3 is beyond my comprehension. Unless you are one of those "keeping up with the Jones'" people why have more money than brains, this is perfect. It is hooked up between my DVD player and TV, just plain and simple.

Good product
I bought this almost a year ago and it's been working ever since. Altough I never understood people who manage to break cables. 1m is quite short but it's clearly stated in the product description so you should be aware of what your're buying.

Why pay more
Having bought a new (reasonably priced) lcd TV from Comet, I was shocked to hear the price they were asking for a HDMI lead. The same goes for all the high street electical outlets who charge anything fom £15 upwards.Needless to say I thought that I would give this far cheaper HDMI lead 'a go' before I splashed out on an expensive one. I was not disappointed in any way in fact I have gone on to order 6 more for my friends and family who have seen my TV working and were very impressed with the picture quality. It all goes to show, you don't have to pay through the nose to get good quality.

Very unreliable and not compatible with some devices
Edit: after a helpful comment added to this review it turns out that these cables are not "fully wired" ie they are missing connections that will enable control systems to work between certain devices (eg Viera link for Panasonic). "Premium" is a misnomer! This cable proved a disappointment. I frequently change the angle of my TV on its stand when gaming or watching films. Using this cable the connection would regularly fail and the signal would be lost to my DVD recorder.Furthermore the Viera link functions (my TV and DVD are both Panasonic) refused to work. I initially put this down to the fact that my DVD recorder is much older than the TV and decided they weren't compatible. But the reliability issue persuaded me to order the Pro Gold Red HDMI cable also available on Amazon ([...]).What a difference! Not only is the connection rock solid I am now able to use the Viera link functions. For me it was worth paying the extra for reliability and compatibility. Other users mileage may vary depending on the components they use.
