This product is junk; it's cheaply made, doesn't function properly, and leaks water everywhere. My unit contained loose pieces, for which the instruction manual provides no information about how to reattach/repair.There is also not an option for me to return this item. The Amazon app cites "flammable gas" as the reason. I assume this refers to the CO2 bottle, but not sure why as this is a non-flammable gas. Regardless, I'm stuck writing amazon and the seller directly, vs. using the normal return process.I'm seeking a full refund. I have no interest in this product, and will not consider a replacement. Consider me a lost customer to the world of consumer carbonation appliances. If the seller would like their broken equipment, they are more than welcome to arrange to pick it up from my building, if shipping it is too dangerous.

Nice to get three bottles in the package but this version doesn't work nearly as well as the Sodastream Genesis - which I also own. Find it very difficult to get an equivalent degree of fizz. Trying to return this one for an exchange - will let you know if the vendor cooperates.

To be honest, I've only tried it a couple times since receiving it. I like that it's lightweight and easy to use. However, it doesn't seem to have as much "fizz" as I expected and wanted. I will try it again before deciding if I'll return it or not.

I saw a meme that said bottled water producers don't produce water, they produce plastic bottles. That got me thinking. A little backstory: I quit drinking alcohol almost a year ago and switched to sparkling waters. I was drinking about a liter an evening, rotating flavors for variety. That's a lot of plastic bottles. After some research, looking up different ways to produce my own and reading reviews, I decided this SodaStream starter pack would be a good place to start. The reviews were a big help so I thought I'd pay it forward and write a one of my own.I've had it a little over a week and have made liters and liters of my own sodas and lemon-lime sparkling waters. It's become a fun hobby, experimenting with flavorings and amount of fizz. There's a learning curve finding the right amount of bubbles but the operation is super easy.So far I've tried SS's root beer, cola, Dr. Pete, and cherry cola syrups and I've been impressed. Adding a little lime dust to the cola is my favorite so far, besides my lime heavy lemon-lime blend. I'm looking forward to experimenting with fresh fruit and berries next.If like me you're concerned about plastic bottle waste and are looking for an alternative, this is a great option. I'm glad I pulled the trigger.

seller never bothered to answer my emails -- this has never worked as advertised - first, no 'puffs' happen after 2 sec, or even after 5-10. maybe once every 10 bottles there'll be a puff. more problematic is that there's no way to tell if the bottle is secure - half the time i process a bottle only to find it wasnt really attached and i waste 1 bottle's CO2 for every one the works -- nothing in instructions

Great substitute for buying bottled club soda. Works well, uses no power, saves plastic waste. I love it!

It didn't even last through 4 CO containers which doesn't take long to go through. It would've been cheaper to continue buying sparkling water in the store.

When attempting carbonation, the water overflows the bottle, onto the counter, down the cabinets and onto the floor. Clean up each time to avoid water damage to my property is a chore. I took care to not fill the water level above the indicated maximum fill mark. I've tried to be as careful and possible to seat the bottle within the receptor as well as possible. I've watched the online SodaStream instructional videos just to make sure I am operating the product properly. Ultimately, a 4 mm elongated bring orange piece with an O-ring around the middle popped out and I can't for the life of me figure out where it came from. The water remains fairly flat. I wish to return the product for a refund; however, Amazon will not accept a return with a message stating: This item isn't eligible for returnFor safety reasons, items containing flammable liquids or gases can’t be returned to Amazon.That's odd because CO2 is a fire retardant. It's what you spray on fires to put it out. And, if they can ship it to me, why can't I ship it back? Or, even return the product without the carbonation bottle?I would not buy this product online. I wish it was prominently indicated at time of purchase that return was not possible.

I considered getting a Soda Stream for years before finally asking for one for Christmas. I love it! This unit is so simple and easy to use.Note that this is a tall unit, several inches taller than a coffee maker, but it does fit in the standard space between a countertop and upper cabinets (but not with much clearance).Also, although this unit is very easy to use, it's not foolproof. My water kept coming out flat at first. I ended up watching a few YouTube videos with tips and tricks, and now I get perfect bubbly water every time.A few things that helped me were to use 7 pumps to get the type of bubbles I wanted, hold the button down for 3-5 seconds each time, and also to make sure that the bottle is pushed up all the way before pumping. You should hear the bottle off-gassing (a "shhhhhhhh" sound) after each pump, or it's not attached properly. And you should wait for the sound of the off-gassing to calm down a bit, before pressing the button again. Also, when you detach the bottle, it should make a sharp "shhh" sound, or it wasn't attached properly.
