Anything that happens in my forward field of view, I really should be able to see coming, but from behind is more difficult and last weekend I was subject to what I can only describe as a road rage incident for the crime of being a cyclist in the correct lane at a roundabout. Having refused to yield to an impatient driver who attempted to push into the left hand lane of traffic, I was then deliberately rammed by the same driver from behind, having my bike pushed for a couple of feet down the road. I'm pretty sure she only came to her senses as we were in a line of stationary vehicles and she ran out of room. With camera footage I would definitely have made a complaint to the Police. Without, and there being no damage or injury or photographic evidence it is just not worth the effort.The Fly 6 does everything I need. The quality is good enough to clearly identify number plates and the arc of coverage is perfect. It is easy to strap to the bike and to remove with different wedge options for different seat tube slopes and even a fitting for aero posts. It comes witha 8Gb card, usb and is literally ready to go out of the box with the simple housekeeping chore of setting the system time. 1 button turns it on so no fiddly settings, the only thing you can get wrong is to either point it the wrong way or forget to turn it on. It has a microphone, automatically loops to record over old footage when the card gets full and would appear to have a decent battery life, certainly enough for my maximum 2 hour rides and daily commute. The LED lights are also sufficiently bright for urban use without being retina searing overkill.Footage appears to be clear and not juddery on my hardtail mtb commuter. At night the car headlights do seem to overwhelm the sensor making number plates more difficult to discern. The microphone collects ambient noise, so make sure to speak up and clearly if you need your words recorded for some reason. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Great buy for a gadget-addict cyclist *by S***K on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 March 2018* Works well. Battery has a good life, lasts several good rides without charging. Light is bright and video is OK. It's fantastic, really bright and can be seen long by the vehicle coming from behind long before they reach you (day or night).The unit is quite a bit chunkier than I was expecting but I think the newer model is smaller and has a better camera. At the time of my purchase the newer version is twice as much.This items comes with a really good velcro strap to secure it to your bike and a couple of handy mounting spacers. It even comes with an SD card so can be used out of the box (once charged).The camera quality during bright clear daytime weather is pretty good. You can clearly see all traffic and read number plates clearly should you be unfortunate enough to need that information.This review has lost a star because the quality of the camera in low light and and night is very poor.
