Even better than the previous
Ignore any bad reviews, this game is even better than the previous - and I thoroughly enjoyed the previous. It's an absolute pleasure to play in 1080p. Compared to far cry 3, it's more of a challenge and there's a lot more to do, the player can decide how the game will go (to some extent) and the whole thing just has a general bigger and better feel to it. Highly recommend.

Amazing game.
Amazing game. I already thought the graphics for the previous Far Cry were amazing but the graphics on this are much better. So much detail put into the game and so much to do. You can free roam for hours if you want to do things like find animal skins for weapon holders etc or plants for syringes or if you want to get straight into the action there is plenty. Main missions with plenty of side missions to keep you busy aswell. The characters have personality which i've always loved about the game, little things like the dictator talking about Kanye West on Twitter definitely make the game. As if all this wasn't enough there's great multiplayer which is basically the campaign's side missions in multiplayer mode and create your own map feature of play other people's maps.I can't think of any downsides at the moment apart from how annoying it is when the same message gets played over and over on the radio in a car or radio towers of a woman telling people to stop the golden path or anyone from tampering with the towers etc. Fair enough it's a kind of dictatorship setting so the leader will be able to control what messages are sent out to the people but dammit...Apart from that there's definitely not much bad to say about this game. Highly recommend! :)

Another solid entry to the series
Far Cry 4 builds on the previous entry in the series, shifting the action from a Pacific island paradise to the forests, lakes and mountains of a fictional Himalayan country called Kyrat. In Far Cry 4, you play Kyrati-American Ajay Ghale, who has returned to his mother's native country in order to spread her ashes. Kyrat is in the grip of a civil war and Ghale finds himself swept up in the fight between a beleaguered resistance and the Royal Army, led by the evil Pagan Min. What follows is an exciting, graphically-lush adventure that should last you a good 20+ hours on the main quest alone. Add to that almost countless side missions, hunting animals to upgrade your skills and your kit, fetch quests and general exploration, and you could easily double or even triple that play time. The game looks beautiful, with gorgeous scenery and convincing NPCs populating the villages scattered across the map. There are just two small points I would level against this fourth installment – the first being that despite the change of scenery, Far Cry 4's gameplay and character progression stick rigidly to the formula set in FC3; secondly, Pagan Min (wonderfully acted by video game superstar Troy Baker) is underutilised as the game's villain, appearing only briefly throughout the campaign and not making anything like as much of an impression as 3's psychotic Vaas Montenegro. But you get an awful lot of game for your money and let's just say that if you love this series, you'll love Far Cry 4.

Gameplay is 5 star - if only it would load properly
The gameplay is really sweet and is a lot of fun; I'd not hesitate to recommend this game. With one caveat: on two different versions for XBox One, (500GB and 1TB) this game will not load a second time. First time around it goes through all the Ubisoft screens and works just fine. Second and successive times it will not load: I'm not talking about a couple of minutes, I've left this for hours and still nothing happens - I patiently sat there and didn't let the console turn off just to see if it ever got over this load blackage. Not a thing. From a technical point of view, if the console wasn't turned off, the load goes directly to the FarCry 4 load screen, and doesn't flow through all the usual Ubisoft and engine loads. I'm guessing that the problem lies with the fact that the game isn't doing a full load, but jumping straight in halfway through the load sequence. The only solution I've found is to turn off the console at the mains and then things work fine.; flushing the cache, as it were.I'd definitely give the game 5 stars once it's up and running: I've got it both on the XBox 360 and PS4, neither of which I turn off, and the loads for these consoles are exactly as you'd expect, so this seems to be an XBox One issue only.If I leave my XBox One plugged in and play another game, this problem doesn't occur, so it's only an XBox One and Far Cry 4 problem.Knowing this (and it's not just me) the fix is simple, the gameplay thereafter is a lot of fun. It would be fair to argue that this review should be about the XBox One, but the game experience here is about the two: the game and the console.
