I love Genmai tea, but not all tea is created equal. I have purchased many brands of green tea but have found the Ujinotsuyu Tokuyo Green Tead Roasted Rick GenmaiCha to be the perfect blend of taste and affordability. Most of the Genaai I've purchased in the past have been pretty expensive. Some of them tasted pretty decent but many of them had no taste what so ever. Ujinotsuyu Tokuyo was both affordable and tasty. I recommend it. Mark Astmann

To be fair, at this price point, what should anyone expect? From what I can tell, lots of roasted rice and small twigs, but disproportionately less actual tea leaves. I should also add that it is unusually dusty product. The result is pleasant and drinkable, but as the overwhelming flavor is that of old roasted rice. If the manufacturer is honest, this should be rebranded as "Roast Rice Tea with Some Dried Vegetation". As a compliment to amazon's pricing, this is the exact same thing that specialty Japanese stores sell for a 50% markup.

Yum. This is my favorite everyday green tea. Reminds me of the Japanese restaurant on Mercer Island every time I make a pot. It's not bitter and the toasted rice just adds something extra.

This is a fantastic green tea like what I was raised on (mom was Japanese) Gotta have the roasted rice and popcorn puffs. This is actually one of the brands she bought while I was a kid some 50 years ago. Very smooth, flavorful with a slight nuttiness from the roasted rice which calms the strength of the green tea leaves without an over powering taste or bitterness. Definitely worth a try, you’ll be glad you did!

If you struggle to enjoy green tea like I did, the toasted rice flavour really enhances the experience and makes it very tasty. I found it in a store once and couldn’t find it again until I thought ‘duh…Amazon’
