Ecozone Pan and Soleplate Cleaner, Non-Toxic, Removes all Burnt on Stains and Rust, Revives Grout, Easy to Use, Just Add Water

I had high hopes for this.... hugely expensive, but if it worked, then it would be worth its weight in gold. The first thing I tried to use it on was on a stainless steel saucepan that was pretty badly burnt with macaroni cheese. The saucepan had been soaking for over a week...first in salt, then bicarbonate of soda, but I still couldn't get the burnt residue off with a normal steel scourer. In the end, I decided to buy this product as it is eco-friendly, has no chemicals, the company doesn't test on animals etc, and it seemed to be just what I needed.I have M.E., so I wouldn't win Miss Universe as far as strength goes, but using this block, I couldn't even make an impact! ...Nothing!! Ended up buying Brillo Pads for £1.25 and although it took a lot of umph, they did remove the charcoaled remains of my dinner fairly swiftly.Disappointed at having zero results with this, I decided to try it on the edges and base of my frying pan, as the pictures displayed. My frying pan wasn't that bad...just the odd bits and pieces of brown burnt-on fat, which I managed to remove with a lot elbow grease. I also started to do the stainless steel bit at the end of the handle, just like in the advertised photograph. It was then that I realised that this thing was scratching the heck out of my pan! I held it up to the daylight, and it had taken off the coating on the underside if my Tefal pan and really scratched the silver stainless bit on the handle!! I was really annoyed! I knew that you weren't supposed to use it on non-stick surfaces, but upon seeing the advertising photos cleaning a pan very similar to mine, I didn't think it would scratch it so badly! Apart from there being no chemical soaps in it, I fail to see the difference between this and a brillo pad!I had planned to use it on my glass oven doors, but daren't now!I did phone the company and tell them that I thought their photographs were misleading, but they just said that the handle of my pan must have a chrome coating, and that you shouldn't use it on any type of coating..... well, certainly all Tefal pans have some kind of orangy coating on their base now a days. Admitedly that bit was my fault for not reading the small print, and just looking at the photographs.So now, I'm stuck with an £7.99 block of this stuff, and I really don't know what I'm going to use it for!

The Ecozone Pan/Soleplate Cleaner is effective at getting rid of tough burnt on stains. I had several pans that were in very rough shape but I didn't want to throw them in the bin for both sentimental and practical reasons. The Ecozone effectively removed the vast majority of stains on pots/pans that I thought were hopeless (they really were that bad!). However, it required quite a lot of time and elbow grease just so you're prepared. I am convinced that no other product could have salvaged these pans, having previously tried all the usual cleansers. Even steel wool doesn't get at the really deep stains the way the Ecozone does (I tested it out side by side---the steel wool worked but only to a point. It took the Ecozone to get beyond the surface stains, and it did so without any scratches or damage). This product does wear down so it will have to be replaced at some point but it is a good value relative to its efficacy. You also save by not having to use any other cleaning products with it. To give you an idea of its durability, I used it on 4 deeply stained medium sized pots/pans and though it is now about 25% smaller, it should still be usable for about 10-12 more intensive cleanings or perhaps upwards of 50 light, maintenance-type cleanings.

I always seem to have these burn't on stains to the base of my pans, where I presume oil runs down and burns on. I have tried every kind of toxic/non toxic and oven cleaner - you name it, and not one cleaning product can remove that residue. Not even with a Brilo pad, so I just used to throw the pans away until I found this product. Without expecting anything fantastic I took out from the cupboard my oily and sticky based frying pan, turned it upside down and wet the surface. I then wet the stick which is a like using an abrasive rubber and started to work on the edges first, and I really could not believe my eyes - the stains were coming off so easily. I have before and after pictures that I wish I could upload to show the difference. I then tried on the bathroom grout, which even Mr. Muscle could not tackle and this rubber cleaner made my tiles look like new. My iron is next. I am very happy indeed.

Useless on what it was intended for (cleaning pan bottoms), but did work in a top oven. So I'm glad I tried it on the spur of the moment before binning it.

I bought this hoping for good results, but not really expecting too much. So I was really surprised to see how good it is at removing marks from the inside of my stainless steel pans, and with very little effort. I have been able to clean the bases a bit, but I think this is something that will need quite a bit more time and effort than I have put into it.

Had some really bad burnt on bits on my iron and nothing could remove them. Bought this to try as its cheaper than buying a new iron!!! Was very impressed I must say. Got rid of lots of nasty burnt on bits and my iron looks almost like new. Very impressed.

What a simple and effective product! I like it because unlike other products I used in the past, this doesn't stink like a chemical factory. I used this on a set of pans which I have from my mum, and which were in need of a makeover. All stains, even old ones which I treated with other cleaning products in the past, came out when I used this product. All I had to do is damp it in water and scrub, amazing! I might sound a bit to excited over a cleaning product, but I can't help it as I never came across a product to clean so good as this one.I can not recommend it enough and I am so happy I found it. I would give it 10 stars if I could!
