For the last 10 years I have used a standard semi circle cat flap by a well known brand, it has a magnetic strip the full length of the cat flap door so the wind whistles between the very slight gap that is between the magnetic strips on the frame and door. I read about on draught proofing a cat flap and such but there didn't seem to be any good options for it back then. In any case I have refitted the kitchen recently so bought a new flap just to make the place look nicer, to my surprise given the price, this is a very well made cat flap. It looks lovely, and there is no brrrrrreeze getting through it but for the sake of two very very tiny pinholes of draft where the hinges are but it is to all intents and purposes, draught proof. Indeed it just went through a windy storm across the UK without issue, magnets small but firm enough and with a good fit so the gap is absolutely minimal where I cannot feel air movement, and the brush fabric around the rest of the flap where the magnet isn't, keeps the heat in and cold out. For the small price, good cat flap. Should be the basic standard for them all to follow as a baseline but sadly not. Oh, p.s. It is fine for big mogs, my male cat is near 7kg, fits fine. He's not fat, just a beefy cat, terrified of kittens.

Compact, easy to fit cat flap. I bought one of these to fit to my outer porch door - I needed one that would fit into a UPVC panel under a moulded part, so it needed to be fairly compact and not have a massive big frame - checking the measurements, I found this one would fit just fine, so ordered it mostly on that basis. After fitting it, I was happy with the quality and ease of installation, so ordered another for the inner porch door (where size wasn't a problem, so I could have fitted any cat flap). They're easy enough to push open for my cat to get the idea right away, but hold shut enough that I've never seen the wind blow them, even in the stormy gusts we've had lately here. EDIT: The two of these we used in our last house lasted well, stayed looking good with the occasional clean, and had no issues at all. So, when we moved house in November 2019, it made sense to order another of this model to fit in the new house - again, totally pleased with it, easy to fit, works fine, cat took to it right away and has her freedom back.

Purchased this cat flap having as we had moved and needed to fit a flap in our new house. Having previously had a cat mate flap which had served us well we decided to go for another one. This time we needed a flap to fit in the utility room window as our doors are extremely thick hard wood. Its a nice sturdy product, it was easy to fit and the template was of a good design which made it easy to cut out and fit a wooden surround into the window cavity as we has to remove a small pane of glass to put the cat flap in. We have had this product for two months now and so far it has served us well. The door in the flap is a good fit and the brushes and magnetic seal stop it from coming open in the wind and also stop any wet coming in when it is raining. We live quite high up in a direct line from the sea with just open country side between the window the flap is fitted in and the sea. This means we get the full force of the weather here with driving rain and high winds, previously owned catflaps have rattled, leaked and blown open in houses we have lived in which were more sheltered than this one. The only reason i have only given this product four stars is that the sliders to lock / unlock the flap are very stiff and hard to use, if you were elderly, weak or arthritic you might find it impossible to lock/ unlock. Having said that it does mean that the cat once shut in cannot knock the slider across and let itself back out. The flap door itself is tinted glass which means that it doesn't show up the dirt spashes so much, it also looks quite small but appearances can be deceiving. Our very large tom cat goes in and out of it easily and unfortunatly still has enough room to drag rats through it, quite how he manages to get them four foot up to the window without dropping them is a mystery.

The order came quickly within a couple of days and was well packaged. It had clear instructions on fitting and my husband managed to fit it with no problems. Our cat is 5kg and she fits through it snuggly, if your cat is larger than this I would go for the next size up. The locking mechanism is in the centre which means that there is no 'give' in the bottom corners as with other cat flaps where the lock is positioned in a corner - this makes it near on impossible for a cat to bash or head butt their way through it even when locked- something reviews on other well known cat flaps talked about. The flap itself is a darkish brown rigid plastic which my cat can see through very easily - there is no logo in the centre or opaque plastic which stops her looking out first. It is almost silent when she uses it, the draft excluder does keep the wind out and we've had some heavy rain recently and none got in. I would highly recommend it over other makes. It is self-lining which means you don't need to buy an additional door or wall liner and you don't see the inside of the door (upvc)like with some other well known makes. There are no fussy frames or bulky edges - its just a catflap. Highly recommended.

Having moved to a new house I needed a new catflap installed. I chose this one because it had a clear door rather than a textured one which I have had in the past. This makes it much easier to keep clean, the textured doors hold onto the dirt I find. The locking system is easy to use. You push and slide the tabs to where you want them to be. The thickness of my back door is 4.5cm which this fitted into perfectly. I am very happy with it and I know my cat will be too, once she springs to life later this evening!

Purchased this product as we have a large cat, my wife and I were however worried it wouldn't fit through before receiving the product. However the dimensions and size guide was right, and our Siberian fits through no problem. Our upvc door is required us to use the tunnel which worked great. I had never cut a hole in our back door or installed a cat flap, but the instructions were easy to follow and it came with a handy template to put on the door and draw your cutting area. Fairly simple (but slightly time consuming as your have to cut a big whole in your door) installation. A nice neat finish once installed, no sharp bits that could hurt the cat, and seems nice a sturdy but easy enough for the cat to get in and out. The magnet that holds the door in place is a great addition, and the brushes round the edge stops and draft coming in. The locks that can stop the cat going in/out or both are simple and effective. Though do seem like they could break eventually so don't force them across. Simple packing, fairly compact that can be recycled. Great product on the whole at a great price!

I wasn't sure what I'd be getting for my fifteen quid, but was pleased to find it was well made and easy to install. I like he fact that moggy can see out to check the coast is clear and the locking mechanism works well both ways. I've not noticed any drafts coming through and the fit of the door is good. One tip I would offer is to seal the outer edges with a thin amount of silicon sealant, which serves to ensure a flush fit and stop any ants from finding their way through - a problem I had with the last cat flap. I guess the only issue would be if you have to trim the plastic down for thinner doors, but that looks reasonably straight forward, given there's some indented guides for cutting. Mine thankfully fitted my back door perfectly. This is a very decent cat flap for the money and as stated, was dead easy to install.

This cat door works perfectly. The extenders make installing it in different thickneses of wall a brezze. I moved it from one house to another and the quality keeps it looking great even afterr a move.
