Siamp 30998010 1/2-Inch 15 mm 99T Plastic Bottom Entry Adjustable Telescopic Inlet Float Valve - Multi-Colour

Have a slimline en-suit bathroom fitted and the cistern filler was a mare to adjust and was possibly not the right one for the job... the unit was large inside a slimline plastic cistern that had strengthening braces further restricting available space... after many years of use, it failed.. as did the overflow system and flooded the place. Bought this to replace the old (also replaced the overflow/flush mechanism) but this unit is smaller than original one and fitted perfectly into the cistern and did not foul on anything inside. Took about 20minutes to remove old and replace with this. The instructions were clear enough and some marking and measuring is advised to assist with a very simple setting of this unit's height prior to installing.. takes a few minutes only and worth it. First fill was spot on to what I needed and the unit needed no further adjustment of water fill level... flushed and it filled spot on.. quieter than the old one and no slower. Several weeks later.. it still fills to exactly the right level.

Two of the inlets in my toilets started getting slow and noisy at the same time. Bought these to replace them and was surprised at how easy it was. Had fears of leaks etc, as my existing ones had been siliconed in place, but these fit fine, no leaks, even without silicon. Much faster than I ever remember my last ones being too, and very quiet.

If your like me and does not want to remove the entire unit, and you already have a Siamp 99T you can just pull up the grey tab (part of the stem that adjusts heigh), only its pulled up, and click you can pull the two parts apart, then just slot the new one on (and if you have no room to twist it, just pull up too, and push it up and down) the push the clip down to lock it back on :-) job done, just adjust the point it stops and your done Rubber can also be replaced too, at very small cost (or be lazy and just pull entire unit and swap the top part, then you can fix the other one as a spare)

Bought to replace a different brand leaking valve, easy to fit, although i did have a problem with the fixing nut crossthreading, but that was due to the position of the hole in the cistern being close to the side of the pan, and the nut on this being bigger overall than the one replaced, couldn't get the water pipe to seal till i realised it was crossthreading, works well plenty of adjustment, good make,, would probably have bought the same with brass tail if I'd seen it, but nothing wrong with this, happy with purchase.

only gave 3 stars as the one we replaced, only lasted 2 years, it did say it was guaranteed for 5 years, but we had to buy one to fix the toilet as it was Christmas, because it did not cost a lot went ahead and replaced, it was just screw on and off for us, simple working fine now
