My 10-year-old loved it, and we plan to buy it as a present for the nearest birthdays of her 10 yo friends

Really informative and interesting book!
I bought this book based on the reviews already on Amazon and they didn't disappoint! It is for my 10 year old nephew for Christmas, who is just getting into his creative writing and it seems excellent! There's a lot of hints and tips to help his writing on illustrations come along, with lots of different ideas. It also helps the reader to understand different writing styles and what they all mean. I'm half tempted to keep it for myself!

Like a school text book.
Lovely book BUT it reads like a school text book and is therefore not very child friendly. The age range suggested is misleading (8-10 years). The activities are quite complex and the language very 'academic' in places. I think 8-10 year olds will need help with the activities in this book and using it might feel like a 'lesson' in school. Bought for my 8 year old grandson as he enjoys writing stories, but will be returning as I don't think he will find it engaging.
