It offers quick, accurate results using blood from the finger tip. This kit is supplied with everything you require to get started including 10 strips. You can then purchase additional strips which are sold in packs of 10 when you have used the initial ten that is supplied with this kit. We recommend charging the battery before use. This unit is compact and lightweight and all four results will display on the screen after the two minute interval. You will have enough pipettes, used to hygienically collect the blood from the finger tip with each pack of strips purchased. We have a YouTube video which runs through the whole process for you which we recommend you watch before trying this out for yourself. Remember, this unit like all other point of care testers are only as good as the person or persons using it. If you put blood that has been collected from an excessively squeezed finger tip, this will affect the results. If you do not fast (no food or drink within 12 hours) this will artificially raise the triglyceride result which will in turn raise the LDL result. It is important then that you collect the three small 7ul samples from the finger from free flowing blood. Accurate use of the lancing pen will ensure this. It is best to use warm hands and before you lance the finger tip, gently milk from the base of the finger you are going to use which will increase the blood at the finger tip. A good way of checking this is to pinch your finger tip and if the redness quickly appears then you know there is capillary blood there. We also recommend wiping the first, small blood drop that appears off the finger, then gently squeeze fro the base of the finger towards the finger tip to obtain the three small drops required for testing. When it arrived I read and reread the manuals and familiarised myself with the items. Before 1st use I did the system check which was simple and it passed. My first test was soon afetr a clinic test so I compared the results witrh thoise and they were pretty similar. I then started statins and have checked regularly since to see the changes, and again on stopping statins. The only problem I encountered was I often need to use 2 of the plastic pipettes to collect the 3 blood samples. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Just used my unit for the first time with great results. I would definately recommend this unit for high and low Cholesterol testing.
