Flow Yoga: Elements of Yoga: Air & Water with Tara Lee

You'd better know your stuff because this is NOT for beginners!
I have given this 5 stars as I suspect future me will love it...once I get used to it! I only recently started Yoga (a few weeks ago) but have always exercised and kept fit. However, I was not a bendy person and decided to do something about it because, let's face it, I wasn't getting any younger. So I bought Tamal Dodge's DVD and really, really liked it. Now, although I have not mastered it, I was doing it daily so getting a bit bored with it so decided to get this DVD. It is a different kettle of fish entirely.Meaning no disrespect to Tara, Tamal is a better teacher. He explains things better, more thoroughly and promptly whereas Tara often forgets to, or it is an afterthought. Tamal also gives the viewer much more time to get into a position and offers alternatives for those of us that are not so bendy, whereas Tara zips from pose to pose (and some of them are really complex to a novice) and rarely offers an alternative. There are some positions where I wonder if she is a different species because, to me, the position is impossible but she doesn't suggest that it may be hard for some people, offering an alternative. The final area where Tamal's DVD is better is the breathing. For most of the DVD he reminds you to inhale/exhale but, in addition, there is an audible breathing sound as part of the soundtrack. That really helps you find your breathing rhythm. Tara's score is much more lively, so less relaxing and less conducive to slow breathing.Having said all of that, I appreciate that it is partially my fault for running before I can walk, in Yoga terms. I am a novice and this programme is for those with much more experience and flexibility than me, which is why I didn't feel right giving less than 5 stars. It IS a good DVD and she IS a good teacher but, if you are very new to Yoga, give this one a miss for now, stick it on your wish list and go grab one of Tamal's instead.

Excellent Yoga Workout
I love this DVD, it is quite advanced for beginners but if you want a challenge I would definitely recommend it. It has 3 sets of workouts, I'm still unable to complete the three in a row yet. The exercises teach you about opening up and expanding sections of the body and how to expel toxins through breathing techniques whilst doing the corresponding yoga poses. It incorporates the air, earth and water components and Tara does the exercises outside with relaxing music which really helps you to escape and focus on the poses.I have also bought yoga relaxation oils from Suki Shufu online for £15 to use whilst I exercise to aid with relaxation, you can also use these in the bath, to burn in an oil burner or just as a relaxation fragrance. Tara also recommends fitness websites for Yoga clothing and classes and options for pregnant women too which is really useful. I love the wellness website Tara recommends, the Yoga clothes on there are gorgeous although expensive. The workouts really make you ache if you haven't done Yoga for a while, beginners go careful, if your advanced you will be able to do all 3 workouts in a row and really enjoy the Yoga journey Tara takes you on!Hope this review helps you... I give it 5 stars! Namaste.(Namaste - that's a greeting with deep spiritual significance).

Very good DVD
I have been doing this Yoga workout for about four weeks now and I am really enjoying it. I would say it isn't a beginners workout but as I have done Yoga before and exercised regularly on and off over the years I found it fairly easy. I would recommend watching all the sections first so that you can see how the positions should be, and I always pause it and go over the exercises if i'm not sure of something. What I like about the DVD is that it is in sections so you can chose how long you want to work out for, and there are only 24 minutes in each workout. She explains the poses quite well although I have had to stop and go over some of the more tricky ones to make sure I am doing them correctly. All in all I would recommend this DVD and I am going to buy the other workouts by Tara Lee.

Great follow on from Tara's Earth Foundation DVD.
Really love this DVD just as much as Tara's first 'Earth' foundation DVD.I am relatively new to yoga and find that I can complete almost all of the dvd already. It feels like I have had a work out, especially if I have time to complete all three sections in one go! I improvise a few of the asanas due to a chronic back problem, however, I've noticed that yoga is helping this so much and I am having far fewer pain flare-ups. My muscles feel as if they are being unravelled (as opposed to feeling regularly in spasm) & I feel so much more relaxed in general.Tara has a soothing voice and the routines are fairly easy to follow, especially after a couple of times. The bonus features on each dvd are also great, each about 10 mins long. I haven't attempted the 'core/dynamic' bonus yet, however, the 'breathing' and 'balances' bonus sections are brilliant & I often do these in addition to the main practice sessions, depending on how much time I have.I understand Tara Lee holds classes in London (and specialises in pre-natal yoga), but for those of us living miles away, her DVD's really do the job! I wish I'd started doing yoga years ago, as these dvd's are so good. After 2 weeks of between 30mins- 1.5hours daily yoga practice, I feel so much better and have surprisingly lost 5lbs and an inch from my waist, already! Highly recommended.

Okay, but not great
As an instructor, this lady is not as thorough as, say, Rodney Yee in terms of instructions. There are three workouts on this video, each between 20-25 minutes, and can be watched as a whole, or as parts, although as parts they don't work quite so well, because you would be jumping into the middle of a routine with no warmup.

absolut perfekt!!!

LOVE IT
