Kenwood KAX950ME Food Mincer Attachment, Silver

Very impressed. Initially bought the adapter so that I could use the attachment from my previous Chef but had to return it as it didn’t work. However although a bit expensive this attachment was well worth the money as it’s well made, very solid and fitted like a dream. Prevented me from having to return my new Kenwood Chef Titanium XL mixer as I need to mince a lot of dried fruits for my cakes. Looking forward to using it very soon.

Firstly, when it arrived the cutting blade was missing. I called Kenwood’s customer service & they sent one out that came the next day, so that was good. As pointed out by several other people it’s made of aluminium so not to be cleaned in dishwasher as it will dull metal & create a residue. The instructions state not to put in dishwasher but it would make sense if it explained why. A steel version would be dishwasher proof but very heavy & expensive to manufacture. It’s easy to fit although it doesn’t lock into place on my KMix so need to be careful it doesn’t overbalance. A couple of reviews have complained about slow mincing & damage to parts. The meat I’ve tried so far, various steak & pork cuts, minces well and quickly using the biggest gauge mincing plate. I’ve not tried the smaller gauge ones. Be sure to put cutting blade the right way round. Also on the KMix the speed should be set to 4 according to instructions. Overall I am really happy with this and I think it works very well. I would definitely recommend this.

This is great, sturdy and and easy to fit. I needed the adapter as I have an older Chef. The mincer is fiddly to fit until you get used to it. Do not try and do it in a hurry, allow yourself plenty of time. It is easier than the instructions suggest and is a great addition to my machine. Wash all parts by hand not in the dishwasher.

It works quite well even with rough meat and huge pieces. All parts looks high quality and sturdy even though they made from mostly aluminium and plastic. There are no cleaning tool provided which is a bit bad since horizontal part of the tube will be stuffed with fat and marrow. Despite this down side I am very happy with its performance.

This mincer is awesome as the motor in the Kmix is so strong and like any other mincer/grinder, the closer to cooking you mince the meat, the juicier and more tender it will be - it's that simple. It's lovely making a tender ragu with very freshly finely minced beef which is impossible to buy as pre-minced beef/pork leaks juices over time making it tougher. My number one spectacularly useful, change your life tip (that I can't take credit for as I read it online, I believe it came from Alton Brown) is: Don't store the grinding discs(which are iron and will rust ) in oil, which can go rancid. Instead just hand-wash as normal and dry on the radiator and then store them in a bag with cornmeal. I can attest that, after a year of regular use, they are as shiny and good as new. I just take whichever disc I'm using out of the bag, rinse the cornmeal off and mince away. Number two - DON'T PUT THE SHINY BITS IN THE DISHWASHER EVER - it will render the galvanized aluminum parts unusable. I'll give you a number three bonus: don't bother with the tray and lid - just bung your chopped meat straight into the 'chimney' and grind into the bowl you want to mix in, saves on washing up.

This is brilliant. We often have whole deer and pigs to butcher and prepare and I was fed up of mincing with my hand mincer. This was so much easier and quicker. Fitted to my Kenwood chef (bought 3 years ago) perfectly. Very easy to use and clean. Why people are knocking stars off for not being able to go in the dishwasher I don't know. It clearly says hand wash only in the description and when it arrives and it's hardly arduous to clean.

Works flawlessly when mincing meat from my tests, and using a slice of bread or two after you have pushed in the last of the meat you are mincing, helps clear out the remaining meat tissues left inside. Handwashing is then a breeze. But be warned, the majority of bad reviews are down to user error, not the product being bad quality. Seriously, I took a quick look at the stars in the reviews and almost passed on by to an alternative product. Then, looking closer, I saw that the reviewers were lacking on the old IQ levels. The bad reviews noted were down to the fact the finish of this product was messed up after the owner put the metal components through their dishwasher. They clearly didn't read the manual and thought "Oh, look, that product is c**p", then left a bad review. The manual PDF on this page is available to download, and is also provided in the box; it specifically states "Don’t wash any part in the dishwasher". To those who left bad reviews due to a marred finish on the unit after you washed it in the dishwasher; - Take ownership for your mistakes, it is your fault you didn't read up on how to care for your new purchase - Stop bashing a company who did their best to instruct you on how to use their products, it is not their fault you chose not to read the manual they provided you!

This item is imo built for heavy duty use and easily minces meat, nuts, poppy seeds and a whole range of other foods stuffs. I am delighted with design and build quality and surprised at the few negative comments (yes, dishwater liquid and salt can tarnish certain metals! and it clearly advises not to put in the dishwasher). My only slight negative is that it is larger than expected by about 1/3rd. The feeder tray with cover will for example easily hold a couple of kilos of meat! and it takes less than 30sec to mince 500g of meat, so this is a mincer which would cope with smaller catering work and is almost OTT for home use. Overall, a great product.

It fits perfectly with Kenwood Chef XL, easy to use and clean, and comes with easy-to-use sausage making attachments

Hervorragender Fleischwolf. Wird mit entsprechendem Adapter auf einer Graef Myestro Küchenmaschine betrieben. Auch sehr faszienreiches Fleisch wird zu feinem Hack verarbeitet. Wir verwenden den Fleischwolf für Wildfleisch.

J’ai récemment acheté ce produit et j’en suis globalement satisfait(e). Il correspond bien à la description et répond à mes attentes. La qualité est au rendez-vous, l’utilisation est simple et le rapport qualité-prix est correct. Après plusieurs utilisations, il fonctionne parfaitement et remplit bien sa fonction.
