The protective film was still on the lid as well which was a pleasant surprise as the box was damaged, as expected as purchased from Amazon Warehouse. The carafe is clearly brand new, and was well wrapped in protective packaging.Does exactly what it says it does in the description - nice hot water hours later for brews whenever I want without having to boil the kettle every time, or for adding to washing up bowl at end of the day.I filled this up at work and brought it back in my bag, and it didn't spill or leak a drop. Pours smoothly with no trickle after you've finished pouring into cup.
