Gorgeous, funny, adorable friends-to-lovers story!
An unkind personal comment has Lyla resolving to break out of her chemistry-nerd-boho identity by compiling a college bucket list – things she needs to do to make her college experience more interesting, and to push herself out of her comfort zone. She’s fed up of being the plain, boring, frumpy good girl.“When I look at you, you know what I see?...I see the guy who saw me when no one else did…That’s what matters to me. That’s who you are.”She enlists the help of her hot, hockey-playing, player friend, Beckett, to hold her hand as she navigates the waters of college parties ,and learns to make small talk with potential hook-ups.“Desire rose up as I traced every inch of her with my eyes, from her pretty face all the way down her killer body, fiery bursts of it pumping through my veins. Yeah, I definitely wanted a taste.”However, Lyla’s physical transformation has a surprising effect on Beckett. His cute and sweet nerdy friend is suddenly a sexy, curvy siren – he can’t keep his eyes, hands or mind off her. Add in her brains and her adorable ways, and he’s pretty much a goner. When he sees the seventh item on her list, “have mind-blowing sex”, he fixates on it to the point that he suggests that he wants to help her to complete this particular item on her bucket list. After promising to put their friendship first, they find that one night isn’t enough and end up in a friends-with-benefits relationship. Just as Lyla starts to hope that what they have a real future together, a secret from Beckett past has him reeling and convinced that love never lasts.“If I did believe in relationships and love, Lyla would be the perfect girlfriend. Being with her like this made me want to take a risk. Make that leap of faith.”This was an adorable, funny, gorgeous friends-to-lovers story – it would make a great chick flick! Lyla is awkward, goofy, and genuine. Beckett is a great guy and I loved how much he cared about Lyla, and really saw her for who she was before her transformation. Fab read!

sweet funny read
Best friend to lovers, this is one of my favourite type of book. Set in college and where the nerd falls for that sexy sport star, in this case hockey player. So she's a nerd who wants to loosen up more and he's a manwhore hockey player, two people you'd never think would be friends but they are, best friends. Lyla decides to make a list to reinvent herself and this is where best friend Beck comes in and in the end the sexual tension between them throughout is explosive. The one liners between these two was so funny as well, defiantly i few laugh out loud moments. This was a sweet funny read that I really enjoyed, will buy more books from this author.

Needs an epilogue!!
So, I went in to this after reading The Deal and The Mistake and maybe that's why I was rather underwhelmed, those two books are in a league of their own. Maybe I would have liked it more had I read Getting Lucky first, or waited a while to read it. I loved the idea of this story and was sucked in by the blurb but sadly it didn't quite hit the mark.I do love a good friends to lovers story when it's done well. For me this didn't quite hit the mark because if they had just communicated with each other they would both have known where they stood. Just TALK to each other already!Given that this is a dual POV, I got to know Beck but sadly finished the book knowing very little about Lyla. I loved Beck, I really did. He was sweet, protective and his inner geek was so cute. This is one of those books that desperately needs an epilogue, the ending is very sudden and feels almost like a HFN rather than a HEA.

Great Book!
Such a funny book and I absolutely loved Beck. He is a complete ladies man and doesn’t believe in settling down with just one. He’s not into commitment or anything and is happy to keep it that way.Lyla is Beck’s best friend and the banter with them is funny and it’s obvious that they are close. Lyla decides to make a list of things that she needs to do. She thinks she’s plain and boring and guys never want to know her so she asks Beck to help. The book is so funny and enjoyable. Half way through the book, i wanted Beck and Lyla to discover their love for one another. I like a good book like that. They are so great as friends and believe, they do end up doing loads of crazy things as well as figuring things out about themselves.

Fantastic read.
Being such a nerd for her studies, Lyla is stuck in a rut. After over hearing a guy tell his friends how he views her she seeks the comfort of her hockey playing best friend Beck.Deciding that she needs to live life as well as study Lyla ropes Beck into helping with a bucket list that will bring her out of her comfort zone.Only the attraction grows and Beck finds out her seventh item is the one he will personally see to himself. This book is a must read and I was hooked from the first page.So worth 5 stars. Loved it. Loved it. Loved it.

3 Sweet Stars
Sweet, light read. Little bit angst but nice story with some witty banter between the characters. Beck is a yummy hockey player and closer nerd. He has a background he keeps quiet. Lyla is a sweet geeky nerd who undergoes a major makeover and tries to live a bit more wildly with her player best friend, Beck. I liked these two. Enjoyable book. Bit tame in the passion stakes compared to some others but it fits with the book. It still has some sexy moments though.

Good easy read.
Enjoyed it even though you kind of know where it's going to go. Typical American boy meets girl from different side of the track but I did enjoy it. Had a bit of pace to it.
