These are widely recommended by opticians, with some theoretical scientific justification, for anyone with has, or even may at some time suffer from age-relation macro degeneration (AMD). I now have this badly, though its continuing advance over the past five years seems to have been greatly slowed by the Valeda technology. Whether Macroshield capsules help s impossible to say, but I take them in case they may. Strangely the physical design of the capsule is very poor. They are shaped like a fat rugby ball and given half a chance will roll long distances. Paradoxically the soft plastic coating will also stick to surfaces on which it sits for for any length of time, as in for example a compartment of an AM/PM 7 day pill organiser, widely used by the old, who includes many AMD sufferers. So having tipped out any other palls, the Macroshield then has to be manhandled out separately. Not terrible, but irritating!

This product was recommended by my optician. Ihave been taking them for a few years to protect my eyes in my old age.

I got 9 packs of 30 Macushield instead of 3 packs of 90 capsules still great value for money.
