GIGIProfessional Brazilian Waxing Kit

This is one of those purchases where I think "why on earth didn't I buy this years ago??!!". Really easy to use, even though the kit didn't come with the DVD as advertised. It gets the wax super hot though so after melting it make sure you turn the heat dial down so you don't burn yourself. Don't leave the wax on your skin too long as it'll go brittle but otherwise I found this really handy.

I just loved this hard wax : it's not messy and you don't need any strips as you do for cream wax. Heater works great as well, easy to use, nothing complicated. Personally, I have dark and coarse hair, I didn't think the product would work on me but it did.Since I live in UK, I was very happy to see that it came with UK adapter.In conclusion - very happy about buying this. Will be using more GiGi products.

Kit was as described. I had seen much cheaper wax warmers and wasn't sure I needed to buy such an expensive one but that said, this was my first experience with self-waxing in the bikini area, and I didn't want to burn myself or have my wax partly solidify. The warmer keeps the wax at a comfortable temperature, which is definitely what you need as a novice as it will take you longer to do the job. I also found the CD helpful even if a little dated; the principles remain the same. The wax worked well - it removed the majority of hair - if strips were removed promptly (if you leave it too long out of fear of pain, then you won't get such a good result - deep breath and pull!).I think that the salon where I've had a couple of bikini waxes done used this warmer too, which also influenced me in selecting this warmer. I haven't used the solutions so far and I have done a couple of waxes now. I just use baby oil to remove any wax residue/stickiness, as that will also moisturise the skin. Maybe a cheaper wax warmer would work just as well, but I am happy with my results using this kit.

I've saved loads by waxing at home and results are good. Takes a little time to get the knack, but I was an absolute beginner in waxing. Happy.

I already tried many products to do brazillian waxing and this is the best that I tried until now. It's not very painful. All waxing is painful but with this wax I think is quite ok...

I was very excited to try but then ended up very disappointedIt made my skin all inflamed and painful after waxing ,and i explained my problem to the seller but they just did refund fof the wax which is not good enough...very very disappointed

I love this kit, much cheaper than going to a beautician every 3 weeks! And easy to do at your convenience. It would have been nice to know it had an American plug though with living in the uk, I've had to buy an adaptor and they originally sent the wrong wax so I got wall purpose honee, because the stock isn't controlled by amazon because Westfield sell it, they couldn't send out the fit wax, I had to buy it separate to avoid the long returns procedure. The contents of the kit I received were good, it was just a couple of glitches that's all. Otherwise. Very handy piece of kit!

This kit is amazing. I used it to wax my upper lip and legs; which turned out beautifully considering this was my first time doing it myself. The warmer works very well. The instructions say to turn it on high and wait 30-35 min for the wax to melt, however I found it took closer to 1 hour for the wax to completely melt (I would also highly recommend waiting until the wax is completely melted before using; if the wax is not the right consistency it won't pull off in a nice fluid motion, it will break off into tiny pieces which makes the waxing process take longer and hurt more). After the wax melts the instructions say to turn the warmer to low and begin using it. I found the wax a bit on the warm side when I applied it so if you are sensitive to heat I would recommend letting it cool on the applicator stick for a bit before applying it to your skin. I tried the pre-epilation oil that came with the kit and I had also purchased the pre-epilation powder (purchased separately), I gave both a try to see if one was better than the other. They both worked relatively the same for priming the skin for waxing, ultimately it would just depend on what kind of mess you would want to clean up afterwards. The powder gets everywhere, but is easily wiped up with a damp cloth. The oil leaves everything a little greasy, but again, easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Neither product completely prevented residual wax from attaching to the skin (which was a bit of a hassle to remove; I have read that baby oil will remove it easily, so I will have to try that next time), so be very careful not to spill the wax on a different area of your body. However, the bits of wax that dripped on the counter and floor were easily removed once it hardened (it just kind of peeled off of the surface). Another piece of advice, I went through a full 14 oz can of wax doing my legs, so make sure you have another one on hand just in case; and it will take time to go through the entire process (from the melting of the wax to the actual waxing part), so be patient and set aside a few hours.

I received a fully broken lid/cover of the wax heating machine.This ia very disappointing after spending so much money on the product.

I love GiGi products. Have been using the microwavable kit for years now. This is the first time i planned to invest in a wax warmer as well. It has not been 6 months and the wax warmer has stopped working. It doesn't heat up anymore and I have no clue what to do with the stock of wax that is in these tin boxes now. Substandard warmer!!

I don’t ever write reviews but for this one, I must take the time to do so. I’ve been going to salon for past 5 years, every 6 weeks. It always bugged me that my visit only lasts for 10 mins when I’m paying $50+ tax + tip and the entire experience isn’t most pleasurable lying in front of a stranger frog legged half naked. I’ve been reading few blogs to find that it’s quite common for women to self-Brazilian wax themselves. So finally got this kit - and gave it a try. I was too impatient to watch the video instruction that came with it and started melting the wax under high heat. Again, i wasn’t patient enough to wait for the entire wax to be melted as I could dip the sticks to the melted part from the side of the tin that melted first. I left it on high heat and I put some on the hairy part. Initially I panicked as I didn’t know if I should be making a “handle” part of the wax to pull it off and I thought I may have made a big mistake and I will have terrible time trying to get things off my skin. But little by little, and to my surprise - quite not painfully - each strip pulled almost all of my hair out in one pull. It was empowering and exciting at the same time. The cheeky parts was a bit more challenging so I took the time in stripping little my little - and voila came off taking ALL the hair out. Seriously this is the greatest purchase of all time and I am going to enjoy being hairless on my own time without spending the big bucks!!!!

I have really coarse hair "down there" and have tried soo many different hair removal products, all of them resulting in nothing but painful horror stories. This wax WORKS, and it works well, as long as you take the time to learn how to use it the correct way. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of taking the time to lean the correct skills and techniques. I spent a lot of time reading reviews and watching youtube videos on how to use hard wax, and it spared me the frustration and sticky messes other people experienced.I have never removed all of the hair from my bikini area before, and I have to admit, I'm doing little sections every few days instead of everything all at once. After I've done so much waxing, the entire area gets very tender and sore and I just prefer giving my skin a break. Once the hair starts growing back in and its thinner I'll be able to do it all in one shot. It is extremely painful removing all of the hair for the first time, but this is to be expected.Here are a few tips and things I've learned along the way:-Before doing anything with the wax, watch the video that comes with the kit. Taking the time to do this will spare you sticky messes and an unsuccessful experience.-ALWAYS take ibuprofen about an hour before waxing. It will still be extremely painful, but slightly less so than if you were to wax without it. You may also need to take it the day after waxing. Your skin will be tender for a few days, and quite possibly bruised if you are doing a full brazilian.-To heat up the wax, turn the warmer on high for approximately 15 minutes, and then to low. I have never waited for the wax to completely melt before beginning. Personally, I prefer the thicker texture the wax has when its still melting in the middle.-The wax is so much easier to use when it is on the thick side. This helps to prevent dripping when you are spreading the wax and makes it easier to spread and keep it only where you want it.-Use the pre epilation oil, but not too much. Not using it opens up the door to ripping your skin off along with your hair and using too much could prevent the wax from properly adhering to your hair.-When applying the wax, spread it evenly (in the direction of your hair growth) and DO NOT spread out the edges. You want the wax to be about an eighth of an inch thick in the middle and thicker on the edges. I learned from watching videos that this helps to maintain the structure of the wax and will prevent leftover bits from sticking to your skin when you rip it off.-If you are using the wax for the first time, make sure you practice on your legs or arms first. You DO NOT want to learn on your bikini area; this could easily result in painful mistakes and lots of sticky wax in areas you really do not want it to be.-Remove excess bits of wax with baby oil, and do this while the wax is still slightly soft. Once it is hard, the only thing you can do is pick at it or rip out the hair that it is sticking to.-A few people mentioned that they strain and reuse their wax. This is tempting because it saves money, however I would not recommend it. Doing this can promote bacterial growth in your wax, and you DO NOT want this to happen. Freshly waxed skin is extremely prone to infection, so keeping your supplies and tools clean and sanitary is incredibly important. The last thing you want is to end up in the hospital with an infection because you were not keeping your supplies sanitary.-Inform yourself about how to care for post waxed skin before beginning. Like I said, freshly waxed skin is extremely prone to infection, and it needs to be taken care of properly.All that being said, I really do love this product. I am SO excited that I've finally found something that works and works well. Buying the kit was especially handy, and the warmer is so much better than going back and forth between the bathroom and the microwave. Even though the wax is mean specifically for coarse hair, I have used it on my upper lip and eyebrows with success. It is significantly less painful that the wax strips I typically use.I would most definitely recommend this kit to anyone who prefers waxing in the comfort of your home and is patient enough to take the time to learn to use this product properly.
