Sometimes a gadget comes along and you think...what the heck.... why? This is not one of them. The puppy needs feeding 6 times a day. He gets his first feed early on, but the rest are from this little gadget. No, he's not on his own all day. Far from it. But the great thing about this is that it will deliver each food ration at exactly the time you programme it to. No forgetting..has he had 3 feeds or has he had 4? And if you do pop out for a couple of hours, he still gets his grub. The other day he was sleeping next to it, with his paw resting on it....waiting for it to whirrrr open. Personally, I wouldn't use this for wet food. It'll go off, especially if it's warm. But for dried food, it's a winner. It would be fabulous for cat owners who plan to go away for the weekend/night too. It's battery operated so no problem having to plug it in, or risk of high voltage. As for features, well programming couldn't be simpler. In fact, I lost the instructions, but it was pretty easy to work out. It's a bit of faffing about to keep changing the times, so just decide on a regular set of times and stick to it. Even if you want to reduce the meals later on, as your animal gets older, it doesn't matter if an empty drawer pops open. But you can "suspend feeding" at a particular time if you want. The white rotating food tray is really simple to take out and clean, but when you put it back make sure it seats properly or it won't rotate. It's not difficult, you'll feel it drop nicely into place. It does make a whirring sound but that won't stop a hungry pet once they realise that some grub is on offer! Sturdy? Well, my pup has managed to demolish just about every toy we give him. But he can't break into this, even though his sensitive nose knows there is food inside it. Plus it is heavy enough not to be pushed about all over the place. I wouldn't use this for a really large pet, because the trays are probably not big enough, but for puppies which need small amounts at regular times, cats etc, this is first class, well built, easy to use and I recommend wholeheartedly.

I have been searching for a cheap way of dispensing food to my nocturnal hedgehogs to stop the local cats and magpies taking it during the evening before the hedgehogs came out. I didn't want to spend the earth but hoped for something basic that couldn't be easily forced open by the magpie, a true nuisance.I should mention this is placed under cover so rain and other problems are not an issue.This works well, it is very basic but the seals around the lid are good and the timer perfectly adequate for opening a few hours later. The food is gone in the morning and I have put a camera onto it last night to see who is eating it.

Bought this because our neighbours were unable to 'cat sit' as usual. It's fabulous and meant our daughter could pop in once a day, although she lives further away and works full time, I was concerned at first that the noise would upset our boy, as he is semi-feral, but no, all good! Works a treat and I think he likes the fact that the unit is slightly raised. He only eats wet food and it stays fresh for all the meals. All in all definitely worth the cost and allows us to never worry if we are late returning from a trip or are away all day. Its a bit fiddley to set up at first but the instructions are very clear and I did not have a problem. As has been mentioned the unit does not have a long term memory so if you have to change the batteries you will lose the timings,. Not a problem though and I would recommend this all day long 10/10

This is a solid well made product that sits firmly on the floor and is unlikely to be tipped over or moved by a cat or a small dog. The instructions are fairly clear, and programming it is easy but slightly fiddly due to the small screen and small buttons. The instructions say there's a 'no beep' icon on the screen, but I can't find any way to select a beep! That said, it makes quite a noise when it rotates the bowl so most hungry pets will respond to this! The feeder has five bowls, but because the first one is open there are really only four meals that can be set for when you're away.It arrived the same day we were leaving for three days, so we had no time to test it... we filled it with food, set the timers, and off we went, somewhat anxious. When we returned our cat was so upset and beside herself with hunger as the feeder had only partially turned and then stopped and she'd only been able to flick a few bits of food out through the tiny gap it had left.I almost returned it as faulty, but decided to give it another chance before packing it up. This time it worked (we were not away so we could monitor it). It turns out that the bowl must be very firmly seated for it to rotate a full 'meal bowl' and I guess I had not done this the first time. Seating it correctly is tricky... the bowl must sit perfectly in the little slot at the back, with the inner bottom ring perfectly lined up in the little 'screw-like' mouldings in the base. When it slots in correctly it's obvious how it works, but it's very easy to think it's in when it's not.We then used it again when we were away for a weekend and it worked perfectly. Our cat was happy and well fed when we returned. So in summary, it's a really good feeder but you must make sure it's set up correctly!

This product doesn’t work complete waste of money

Probably great for cats but our dog managed to move the dial by pawing at it and open the compartment. We did a trial run before we actually needed to use it and our dog had it opened within 5 minutes.Three stars as the product itself works but just not great for naughty dogs!

Does the job and work easily. Though it would be beneficial if the hole thing could be washed because cat food still goes into the timer bits then can only be wiped and not washed so can get a bit dirty and smelly. But at least the food tray can go in dishwasher. Easy to use. 1 is to open in 1 hours time, not 1 o’clock. But once I realised that it was very quick and easy. To keep meat fresh if it was being stored for a few hours before a feed, I’d keep it in fridge beforehand.

I have purchased this feeder 18 months ago to feed the cats when I am away for a fews for my work. It works very well. I liked it so much that I decided to buy a second one. I have programmed one to give food in the morning and the second one to give food in the evening so I can leave the house for up to five days.It is very easy to set up the timer. The only thing that could be improved is that there is not battery power indicator. I was always a bit afraid thet the battery would run out of power but it is stil working well after 18 months (of course it depends on the quality of the batteries but I am using Amazon brand batteries so not the best one). It is not a product made of cheap plastic. It is more heavy and sturdy than I expected.The only aspect I would improve of this product is the look. I don't like very much the beige color. Would rather prefer to be white or light gray to better fit my decor. However, overall I highly recommand this product.

Met 5 bakjes die ik op geprogrammeerde tijdstippen kan laten verschijnen, kan ik mijn poes automatisch van voer voorzien.Ik had verwacht dat je intervallen zou moeten programmeren, maar het zijn vaste tijdstippen op de dag (in mijn geval bijvoorbeeld 6:15, 18:00 en 22:15). Je kan op die manier dus je poes ruim anderhalve dag van eten voorzien als je een keer langer weg moet.De 4 D-cellen moet je eruit halen om hem uit te zetten, maar die kan je dan uitstekend in de 4 niet-zichtbare voerbakjes doen als je het apparaat weg legt.
