At last! A balm that doesn't leave you looking so oily you're in danger of catching fire!
I've tried quite a few beard balms, waxes, and oils now, and this is still one of my favourites.Unlike a lot of beard related products for you to smother on your grizzly face, this one isn't greasy or oily. It won't leave your friends trying to steer you away from sitting next to candles and other open flames in the fear that your oil-slick face-jumper is about to do a Katniss Everdeen and catch fire. In fact, besides the fact that your beard will quickly become lovely and soft, there's no visual signs you've applied product to your beloved beard - perfect if you want to avoid being dubbed a 'hipster'!The balm is more like a cream, it's easy to massage into your beard and face below. The pump action bottle makes getting at it fairly easy, compared to more waxier balms where you need a pick axe to attempt to lever some out of the tin.The balm has turned my wire-like tangled nest of a beard into a lovely soft face hugging cushion. So much so that one of my colleagues at work insists on stroking it every time we see each, unable to believe how soft it is (it's getting a bit weird now Jeff, please stop). In terms of styling, this isn't really a styling product, more of a conditioner. That said, a more heavy application of the balm can help tame fly-away hairs and get your beard in more order than when you first emerged from the shower looking like a drowned dog.The scent is really nice, oak moss is quite an abstract concept - unless you hang out in forests, which judging from most beard-related products, most of the people designing them do - but to my more humble nose, it's kind of spicy. It's not too strong or lingering or overpowering, nor is it musty like a lot of beard stuff I've tried. The girlfriend also likes the smell, which is rare!As my beard has started to get longer (too long, the girlfriend would say), it's started to need something a bit more, as it can be quite hard to get the stuff all the way to the roots and skin, so I'd recommend it more for short-to-medium length beards.A 100ml bottle goes a long way, mine has lasted 10 weeks and is only around half empty - good value for money.I like my beard to look clean and presentable, not greasy, and oily, like I've accidentally fallen asleep in a frying pan after cooking bacon. This is one of the few products I've tried that helps with that, leaving you with a soft, healthy, quality, conditioned, matte/natural look.

The best I've tried thus far...
Extremely impressed with this after only two days. The smell is manly enough to work with, and the amount required to fully coat my beard (admittedly in it's infancy) tells me that the bottle will provide many weeks before I need to make another purchase.Regarding the effects, the balm does not leave an oily residue which is a huge bonus for me, especially given my recent experiences with a beard oil. Your beard will be left feeling soft and hydrated.Probably the only small drawback for me is the way the nozzle on the bottle works. It's almost a clicker type one where you cannot dictate the volume of balm you produce because once you pass the point of no return, the nozzle 'clicks' and produces a set amount of balm. Not a huge issue for me, but were they to refine the product this is what I would change.******UPDATE******Since purchasing this, I have been introduced to the wonder products from Honest Amish. This has sadly now been relegated to number two, partly because I have discovered through extended use that the effects of a reasonably heavy applicaton don't last very long (about two hours before the crispy, dry feeling returns); and partly because the Honest Amish stuff is out of this world. This is still an excellent carry around item for beardlings because it helps in the early, itchy stages but I feel that most will graduate to other brands as their knowledge of beard paraphernalia (and their beard itself) develops.******UPDATE******Apparently my review has thus far given two people the arse, as evidenced by their inexplicable 'unhelpful' vote (I've no issue whatsoever with the function of that particular button, but how can I be expected to remedy the situation if you do not comment as to what has vexed you so?).Since my prior review and subsequent update, I have taken to using this just after a shower (in which I use Billy Envy beard shampoo) and follow it up with a few drops of whichever oil is flavor of the month with me. It seems to work very well because my beard now has more bollocks than the anonymous down-voters on this site and is the subject of much lady attention. Touchably soft and bears the physical evidence of good maintenance.

Smells nice, not at all greasy
This is a very effective beard balm for the first 3-4 months of growth, killing itch, taming the beard and keeping the wife happy with uber manly aromas whilst being non greasy.I have given 4 stars as its usefulness does diminish as your beard grows longer and I have found beard oil being a must from about 4 months on but this is great for the early stages. As I get older my beard is definitely getting more brittle bit after a few days of this it's soft and strokable while also moisturising the skin underneath

Used to use this and it was awesome. Then
Have tried everything to sooth my rough itchy beard over the years.Used to use this and it was awesome. Then, for no particular reason, I fancied a change and started using oil. Every kind of oil. If it's rated 4-5 stars on Amazon, then I've probably tried it in the last year (for at least a month).Result - horrible dry beard, split ends, unruly and itchy.2 bottles of this arrived today after I admitted defeat and finally accepted that this is the greatest beard feeding, softness inducing, great smelling, women attracting* (I kid you not, on three occasions total female strangers asked to come and stroke my beard), fuzz calming facial hair product out there.Ripped open the packaging and immediately set to work rubbing it into my beard. After one treatment it already feels great. I know from previous experience that a week of using this and my beard is going to look lush, full and will be super soft and itch free.Never going to use anything else again. EVER.*Smells like Chuck Norris

Great smell but contents were spilled in transit
Smells great and cools any beard itch. The only problem was that the lid was not screwed on and some of the contents had spilled which reduced the score to a 3

No oiliness, perfect hold and excellent value
If you need a great product that will keep your beard healthy, smooth and not give it a fake shine, this is it!I blow-dry my beard after showers to give it form and then apply this balm to give it a nice hold and texture. It does the trick in one application and keeps my beard smelling great for as long as be, and won't make it greasy/oily like most other products do. Highly recommend it

Un parfum remarquable
Ce produit est un must have tant par le soin qu'il procure au poil, que par le parfum qu'il dégage.
