The overall themes of the book definitely get a bit darker, though without drawing you out of that cosy bubble.I've given it 5 stars anyway as the Scottish vibe, fairytale setting, and character development / world-building is just great. I imagine the next will be just as enchanting *by A***Y on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 September 2023* My first thought after reading this story is that it has left me with a very gentle and comforting feeling; like that of the beautiful lyrical nature of the older Disney films.I’m usually one that prefers only the main characters point of views but with this story I couldn’t help fully embrace and feel for the ‘side’ characters!Their struggles and mistakes became my own and I would be itching to get back to their point of view— I still am really! The ending brought such bittersweet heartache!The magical elements were enchanting.I loved how the spirits presented themselves and are woven deeply within the characters, their lives and their home.I loved the lessons with faith, pain , losing trust, healing, stronger sense of self/family units.I loved that I could paint a picture of the environments to mind!
