strong but quite fast
Although a variable speed machine the slowest speed is still quite full on so not sure how it will work for fiddly stuff ? But a strong bit of kit.

Wow, be careful with this
First off, it's powerful. I've owned a couple Dremel type tools and when I read it was 240w, I thought sure it is, that would be about 40% more powerful than the Dremel 4000 at 1/4 the price. Having used it, I'm absolutely prepared to believe it's 240w at least. The power is such that even on the lowest speeds the little velcro sanding disks fly off, basically no use and the drum Sanders wear out on steel, in less than 1 Minute at the lowest speed. Do they sand? Yes very well, but have a lot of the sanding drums to hand, you're going to need them. It's very stable and we'll balanced. A lot of these tools vibrate badly and make a lot of noise, suggesting the moving parts are not well balanced around the axis, the one I have is surprisingly quiet with no vibration. This suggests very good construction. Some people refer to none Dremel, Dremel type machines as knock offs, I think that would be unfair for this machine, it appears to be too well made to call it a knock-off and anyway as I'll say later I think this machine is something different.I've not been brave enough to try a cutting disc yet - my Kevlar overalls are on order! The chuck opens a lot wider than the usual Collette, so it means other accessories could be used.Because it has a Chuck rather than a collet it won't take some of the usual accessories. So think about what you're doing with it first. Is it sturdy, yes I'd say so, but it's also heavier than others I've owned. Partly I think, due to the solid steel chuck - very solid, it adds a lot to the weight.Safety - and I can't stress this enough: KEEP YOU FINGERS AWAY FROM THE CHUCK WHILE IN USE!Even with nothing in the chuck it will tear your fingers instantly. The sprockets for the chuck key are exposed and close to where you hold it, so, you've been warned. I can speak with experience that if your fingers wander, you'll regret it badly. It's not actually dangerous, but the absence of any kind of guard does create a hazard. I managed it twice the first time I used it and I'm no amateur, I'm a retired, qualified time served workshop technician used to handling all kinds of kit.Joking apart, wear gloves and goggles or glasses when you use it - you can thank me latter (I drink hobgobblin amber beer).I attached a flexible kneck to it from another Dremel type tool and it striped the inner core faster than I could turn it off. Leaving me holding the tool with a metre of spinning steel spring, whipping around my workshop- a memory no doubt, that will wake me screaming in the middle of the night. I can only be thankful no-one was in the room with me to be caught by it.Overall, it's probably useful for the heavier jobs I do - renovating tools for example, but probably not so much for delicate work.In conclusion, I'm thinking this was never intended as a Dremel type machine, I think it was designed to have a different purpose. I'd say it would drill smallish holes in steel very well. It may be a good cutting tool and a very good grinder - with a suitable small grindstone and I'll probably use it with wire wheels for rust removal. It's probably good for engraving and such as well.Am I happy I bought it. Not sure. I certainly have uses for it, but I think eventually, I'll need a more standard Dremel type tool as well. I think this is something different. I'd be interested to know what it was originally designed to be.

Unstable now Bribery!
Sturdiness, it’s built like a brick so no negatives on that score (awarded 1 star for that). However it is (well certainly the one I got and have subsequently returned) wildly unstable. Overall the power is decent (hence the second star) but was also intermittent on the lowest 2 settings and thus vibrated and lurched around like a bucking bronco. The speed control dial felt really iffy and wobbled around when rotating it (almost like it wasn’t attached properly.) The air intake slots also seemed a tad large and without gratings or some sort of vent mesh, I could easily see small things getting sucked in and possibly damaging the fan and/or motor. It is extremely large and cumbersome (not really useable with one hand) so if you are planning to do delicate detailing etc this is certainly not for you. Finally, it was missing the spare motor brushes as described. Not recommended.UPDATE. NEW LOWER STAR RATING.Seller has now started to harass me by bombarding me with emails trying to BRIBE me with a £50 Amazon Gift Card or PayPal payment to remove my negative review. I have contacted Amazon customer service but still these emails keep coming and suspect very little will be done.

Good value
Feels to be way more powerful than the dremel type machine I have used for die grinder bits up to now. For delicate shaping and tidying up welds before paint this really is a great method to use. Very fast removal of lumpy welds and leaves a nice finish. You need to be cautious as these die grinders can skip and catch you if not careful- they will cut to the bone in no time if you lose control!!

What a dremel should be.
Great product, well made and à great chuck that can hold any tool you have including the dremel ones that can't be used because the dremels broken. 2nd one in 18 months. Don't waste your money on a dremel, get this .

Powerful tool, poor design
Does everything as advertised, very powerful tool and accepts a wide range of bits, I was impressed with the power it delivered until my hand slipped and the fast rotating chuck cut into my hand with ease, be very careful using this product I would recommend only using with the flexible shaft and be very weary of the rotating parts on the main tool as this is rather dangerous and can cause harm to the user if not treated with a great deal of caution, overall product is very good for the price just lacks on safety features that you’d get with a dremmel
