Bilstein 24186636 5100 Series Rear Shock fits 1999 2013 Silverado 1500 RWD with 4" Lift - Monotube Design, Fade Free Performance, Optimal Performance

I have a 2008 Silverado with the Rough Country 3.5” lift (strut spacers, UCA’s and did drop for the front, blocks and Rough Country shocks in the back). The rubber component of the suspension are all but wore out and the front struts were ready to be replaced. Went ahead and picked up the Bilstein Adjustable struts and 0-4” shocks for the rear along with every rubber component under the truck. At receipt of the Bilsteins I was very impressed at the quality of craftsmanship of the shock bodies. Installation was an absolute breeze, I didn’t use the adjustability function of the struts since I already had the spacer so it’s set on factory hight on the shock body but I couldn’t imagine it would have been any more difficult had I used the highest ride setting. The first 100 miles or so the truck did seem to be a little stiff but now that the suspension has had a chance to settle in it drives and handles better than a brand new truck even with the lift and tires. I liked them so much I got my buddy to purchase a set to replace the new shocks he has on his 06 silverado with 6” lift. Which just came in today and we will be installing them later next week. Easy to install, works great for 6" lifted truck and provides smoother ride than worn out factory shocks.

I had Bilstein shocks on my vehiclel prior to purchasing these so I know first hand that they are awesome shocks. I installed a 4" suspension lift on my 05 Tahoe so I needed these 5100's because they are 5" longer than the stock ones I had on. These shocks perform very well on the hiway as well as off road. Plus they look great too!

better than OEM or what came on my truck

Ordered for rear of my 2008 Silverado; ride quality was better than shocks that came with my Rough Country (RC) suspension lift. Stopped the bed from bouncing with big heavy 72lb mud tires when going around 40-45 mph. If you look a photo of shock ends you can see how much better the Bilstein's are made compared to factory and the RC shocks.

While I was lifting my truck, I decided to go ahead and replace the factory shocks. This was the first time I have ever replaced shocks on a vehicle. But, this wasn't a difficult job at all. The front shocks were a little difficult to get into place, but were a perfect fit. Even though I lifted the truck, the new shocks provide the same kind of ride that I had prior to the lift.

These shocks are great! I got them fast and my truck rides better than ever. I had rancho rs5000 which were okay, but these really improved handling on road and off. They are also really good looking. Hopefully they last.

These shocks are amazing! My silverado has Fabtech 6in suspension lift and these shocks are better then the fabtech shocks. Ride is smoother and a direct fit.
