I have a collection of 5 mechanical watches and am around electronics practically every day. I found that one of my watches would not respond to the cheaper blue demagnetizers so I tried this one. It works easily and quickly with one helpful tip. When using this, or any, demagnetizer, make sure to have something to check the magnetization of your watch such as a compass. I found that for one very stubbornly magnetized watch, I had to put it in different positions to finally demagnetize. For example, for the first try, I put the watch face up with 12 o-clock pointing to the top of the machine. I would then check the magnetization. If it didn't work, I would try again by rotating the watch 90 degrees and then eventually trying with the face down. Eventually I was able to demagnetize the watch and it is now within a couple seconds fast a day. Another watch I demagnetized worked in one try. So I presume the polarity of the magnetization on the watch is a factor. But this demagnetizer came through so I gave it 5 stars.
