Garden Trading Aldsworth Outdoor Storage Box Crafted in Spruce | Indoor And Outdoor Use

Despite my initial concerns that this might be a badly made, flimsy piece of "furniture", it's actually really sturdy and well made. I've bought it to use as a parcel repository for all the stuff I buy online (although I'm home I can't always get to the door as my mobility is very poor these days) and to save having to ask someone else to collect missed parcels from the post office or various long-suffering neighbours.The wood is very chunky and well put together with no gaps in between the boards and no warping that I can see, the wood is stained a sort of greyish colour which is nice and neutral, the lid is hinged and although fairly heavy, is sturdy rather than weighty so not a problem to either open or stay open on it's own while putting things into the box itself. The bottom of the box has air holes drilled in it for ventilation, not too big so things will fall through and it's off the ground so it won't get wet. The box comes with four little adjustable feet to help with levelling that you simply screw into the embedded nuts on the bottom of the legs, which is a nice touch especially if you're using it inside. Mine's on gravel so it doesn't matter to me, but I can see how useful it would be on a hard floor.All in all I'm very impressed - it is maybe a little expensive for what it is, I think, but on the other hand it did come ready made so I didn't have to ask someone else to put the blasted thing together for me and I could use it straight away once I'd wrestled it out of the box. So hopefully it'll reduce the rate of missed deliveries for me. I'm even considering getting another one for my patio to keep my small gardening tools and outdoor shoes in as well, as far as I'm concerned it's a great buy!

Quick delivery and easy to assemble. Looks good - a sort of ash grey/brown rather than that brighter colour that a lot of new wooden items are. The storage box sits outside so I added two coats of sealant to protect it from bad weather. After 2 months it still looks as good as new. I also like the fact that buying it online was around £30 cheaper than from JL or other supplier.

The box is weathering very well on my front porch, providing a place for dog lead, wellies and parcels. The size works very well for us, and I'm pleased we didn't end up with a generic plastic storage box. This looks very good and seems to be very well-made with a nice finish. I have even had comments from visitors about how nice it looks by the door! I am hopeful that this will be a long-lasting item.

I've only had this for a couple of weeks, and will add an update to this review after a year to evaluate how it has coped with the Orkney weather!It arrived promptly, well packaged, with none of the damage that a couple of other buyers have noted.Initial impressions: solid and well-made, looks smart outside the front door, the metallic lid is very attractive, just the right size for mail and medium sized parcels. So far I'm very happy with it.

This piece arrived fully assembled and in an undamaged cardboard box. I'm generally happy with it and have previously bought a larger version from the same company. I was really disappointed that there was a large scratch on the lid. I separated the packaging to remove it carefully and there was nothing inside the box to suggest this had happened in transit, so the business either don't check, as it would be hard to miss, or sent it anyway. :(

Really disappointing. The hinges for the lid are held in place by tiny little screws and one hinge had completely come away before I even got it out of the box. I can't believe the hinge points are such a lousy standard since this is the highest load point and a predictable vulnerability - it would have been so easy and inexpensive to use a more robust solution. This is a very expensive product so I had expected a lot more.As for the returns process - shocking!!!!

Comes pre-assembled and mine looks superb still after over 2 months outside in very bad weather. The inside is bone-dry and the outside has not stained from the damp and rain. This is worth the money.

Nice sturdy box but completely the wrong size! Quoted dimensions were 57x77x42 cm but not only is the lid much thicker than in the advertised photos, the max height of the unit is also 8cm short at 49cm. So not fit for purpose if you'd measured this to take your wellies.So nice looking box but it is going straight back.
