Q: Is the 12 cm measured across the metal bit or the bottom of the purse?

The metal at the top of the purse where the clasp is measures approx. 10 cms. The bottom of the purse measures 12 cms. I was a bit disappointed with this purse as the lining is bunched up as though it's not been sown properly. But that might just be my purse. It has a good strong clasp and the patterned material is very nice, however it is beginning to fray at the top.

Q: Can you get a credit card into it easily, as well as cash?

Yes it will fit a credit card. Whilst I really like the purse, I am however disappointed that the fabric isn’t straight on one side though, so it feels like a second.
