Will this fit a telephone socket as well

I think that it would be too large for a BT style telephone socket. It certainly is deep enough to hold one, but the size difference goes against it. The cover is 3.5" square, and will take up to about 1.8" deep. Telephone sockets are rather less than 3" square. This cover relies on being trapped in place by the actual electric socket plate clamping a flange, which would not reach across for a telephone socket, I think.

Does the unit get hot at all around the plug as it’s going under a bed where the socket is

That would be at your risk so wouldn’t want to answer that. I’ve bought a few of these to look pleasent on the eyes dotted around the house up and down stairs. I’ve not noticed they get hot but then mine aren’t out of the way hidden under a bed ….. !

Can any one tell me the size of the inside of this. IE how big of a plug can fit in it?

Hi this one fits a standard single socket , you can also get one to fit a double socket just look for the double if that is what you are after, if it’s a single you are looking for this will fit any uk single socket
