Can this lid consider being airtight?

I’d say not at all. The flange on both sides swing down and closed. I’ve had this trash can and lid for over a year and I do like it. I compost organic material separately. This keeps the odor down until reasonably full.

Lid doesn't seal or close. Badly made product.

One side of the lid does not close it just stays open, and even when both lids are closed together there are gaps all around the lids and in the center. Not a good lid. Returned.
