Stunning!
I’ve always loved Queen’s later albums and ‘The Miracle’ has always been a favourite of mine. Queen fans have known this box set was coming for months now and to finally get it is an absolute joy. The box itself is beautifully finished and weighs a ton: there’s a 76 page book detailing the making of the album and accompanying videos, glossy prints of the members of the band, two posters, a gatefold LP of the original album (with ‘Too Much Love Will Kill You’ reinstated in its original place on side A), four audio CDs and two DVDs. The absolute standout disc on this set is ‘The Miracle Sessions’, which features alternate takes of every track on the album, with alternate vocals. ‘I Guess We’re Falling Out’ is beautiful and most of these alternate versions have real drums as opposed to the synth drums that ended up on the finished album. ‘Another banger is ‘Breakthru’, and in its earlier arrangement you can really hear how it would have sounded if Queen had performed the track in concert. For me though, the single best track on the entire set is the 12” Remix of ‘Scandal’, probably the best extended version of any song they ever recorded. If you’re a Queen fan and liked this album to begin with, this set is a must. Worth every penny!

And put them on another best of album but. But great box set all the same

A let Down
I just can not believe that this half baked box set which seems to have taken forever to be released has arrived with a price tag of nearly £300. Compare that to the far better News Of The World box set at £75 which has far more interesting discs included. For £300 you would expect it to be signed to start with you get a glossy book with some nice pictures and lyrics included. The best of it is they have just used the 2011 remaster for this release. You also get a poster to hang on your wall if you really want to. The big fuss over the long lost track "Face It Alone" is rather under whelming sure its nice to hear Freddie but it is not really a complete track. The other discs included are demos out takes the band talking to each other plus the videos from the singles. It was never a strong album in the first place and this release has not really improved on that.

Price
Sorry but how much they add extras it is far to over priced i have bought other boxsets that contained a lot more discs and a lot more content for less money
