An incredible invention that has endless uses
This stuff is truly amazing and a must for anyone who fixes things or just like to mould or make things. The team that invented this should be applauded as I've used the packet I got in the first month. I got the white and black pack as I already had jobs in mind for how I would use them. The packet contains small foil/plastic packs of Sugru Mouldable glue that you simply rip open and follow the instructions for use. I would highly recommend following the instruction to the letter as this stuff works great when you do and it would be a waste for it not to work on an application because you had not. Once you have followed the instructions for getting the Sugru ready you have a good 30 minutes to apply to your chosen application or moulded shape. I have even blended the black and white together to make a light grey mix which I used on some tools. So far I've fixed a leaking petrol hedge trimmer that was leaking petrol around the fuel tank and after 3 months of use shows no sign of the Sugru breaking down or moving, this is great as it was previously unusable. Along the same line I have fixed two tubs that were leaking and also one swimming pool that had split around the air intake valve, this I did similar to a puncture repair, roughing the area with sandpaper to give the glue to have something to grip on. The biggest fix to date was a large hole in a white car spoiler that took four of the small packets but fixed the hole with little or no prep or aftercare, my Step Dad was, very pleased with the outcome. I've also created tool bit grips for my electric drills to place different bits on the base of the handle and cable runs for cables behind my monitor etc. One tip is to be patient, don't touch your moulded glue until 24 hours later as only when it sets off do you get the super tough rubber feel you need for most jobs. Also, this stuff has an expiration date so don't' buy too much at a time but enough for those immediate jobs. Overall, this stuff is incredible, excllent value for money and a must have for most homes or tool boxes. It would be extremely helpful to me if you hit the YES button if you liked my review or NO and a comment so I can improve future reviews.

Very useful and versatile, although far too expensive
Summary of good and bad points, then full review: Positives: Really versatile (heat proof, dishwasher proof etc) Sticks well to most surfaces, including plastics that others glues don't stick Stays put and last well Quite strong, have hung more than the recommended weight, using multiple large blobs Sealed packets keep at least 2 years in fridge Negatives: Price! Hard to get off hands Have to use whole packet - open packs will not keep, even if wrapped well Can't really be cleaned once used, and can look dusty/dirty after a while Can be tricky to get shape you want Full review: 2 years ago, I bought 2 packs of 8, and have found it really useful. Back then, I paid £4.99 and £5.49 each per pack, during a sale. Thought it quite expensive even at those prices, for the amount you get. Now, it's a horrendous price.. But: price aside, this is REALLY useful and versatile stuff. My repairs are far from invisible, and I find it tricky sometimes to get the shape I want. It's also quite messy on your hands, especially the black/coloured ones. I need soap and a scrubbing brush to get it off, and it makes me wonder how easy it really is to remove from other surfaces. I've only removed one lot so far, from metal, which was reasonably easy. Also, you've got to use the whole packet, as others mentioned. I tried storing an open packet, wrapped back into the packet and covered in cling film, but it was dry only days later. Sealed, in the fridge, the packets have kept well for 2 years, though. But the positives far outweigh the disadvantages, and I've found myself using this all over: repairing cracked hard-plastic propagator lids and various other plastic items, making heat proof handles for saucepans, hooks and fixing things to walls, a blob to stop my over-the-door shelf from sliding sideways, stopping doors from banging against the wall, keeping tablets from falling off stands, etc, etc. It sticks plastics that other glues won't, too. It stands the test of time very well, although does get slightly dirty/dusty looking after a while, and you can't really clean it.. but it's strong, and sticks well to most surfaces, as long as they're clean and grease free (I use alcohol). Despite the high price, will probably buy more, as will really miss it otherwise..

Not bad stuff this. Seriously.
I decided to order this strangely named `Sugru` (I suspect it`s japanese for something?) after reading reviews on what it`s supposed to be able to do. Being a bit of a tinkerer I decided to order this stuff even though I wasn`t quite sure exactly what it could do. The item arrived pretty quickly and you get around 8 sachets of the stuff. Ok what to fix? My mind went into a blank and I couldn`t think of anything. Then I remembered my old security boots that I had not worn for nearly 5 years because the leather and the heel had started coming apart. I had gone to a shoe repairers and they were doubtful about a successful repair and even if it was worth it. I put the boots aside, but never got rid of them cos I liked them and they were still quite new. I cut open a sachet and pulled out this black chewing gum, blu-tac thing. Moulded it until I had the thickness I wanted and applied it to the boot liberally, covering the entire entire fully all around. Then I left it overnight (it needs 24 hours). After that time looked at the boots. Even though the finish isn`t smooth, I doubt few would tell since the black colour was perfect for the boot. I put them on, tied them up. Walked about a bit. Felt ok. Over the next few weeks, I went out in them, to work, while cycling, everywhere and the boots did not re-open; they stayed sealed. Wow. Impressed. My daughter accidentally broke my favourite cup that has been around forever. She can`t remember a time that cup wasn`t there. The handle had broken off in THREE parts. I said `never mind`. "Use that Sugru you`ve been going on about, Dad! PLEAASSE!" So I did. I place a third of one sachet for each part of the handle on the cup and left it overnight. Tried it gingerly the next day with a cup of tea. No falling cup. I`ve been using it solidly for 2 weeks, even as I write this! It don`t look pretty, being a white cup with black bits on the handle, but I`m not one for fashion- I care that it works! So this stuff really does the trick. It`s amazing. it`s obviously some new-fangled chemical whatchamacallit invention thingy some boffin has figured out to easily fix many things. I could`ve really used this stuff 10 years ago! It`s PERFECT! Well, actually, no it isn`t. My headphones broke on one ear. I used the Sugru to seal the broken earphone back to over-head strap. It seemed to work, but only a day later the headphones fell apart again to my surprise! I`m giving it another go, but Sugru isn`t perfect. Nothing Human is. Still a very good product so far and seems to work well on most things. It appears waterproof and somewhat heat proof. Surfaces need to be clean before applying and you have 30 minutes to apply, then leave for 24 hours. It really does the job, except on too smooth (?) Headphones. I`m especially chuffed that its bought life to a pair of good boots that I kept in some kind of hope they`d be fixed one day. This thing has many fixing possibilities I haven`t even considered yet. Recommended.

Perfect for mending my boots
I have used Sugru before and in doing so have saved myself a lot of money as I have mended items that were broken or damaged. Previously I used the white Sugru for mending a Venetian blind that was breaking at the top, where the cord comes down; a flex that was coming away from the plug and to keep a shelf in place where I'd lost the small bracket. This time I used it on my favourite boots. The sole was faulty and the heel was collapsing. I simply made the pieces of Sugru pliable and moulded it into the heel and pushed it well into the cavity. I then build up a section to support the heel and smoothed it well onto the sole. I have worn the boots several times since, even in the rain, and it still is holding fast. These were a favourite pair of boots and only one was faulty, so it was worth saving them as they are SO comfortable. I rate the product because it is easy to use, sets to a silicon-rubberised finish and is pretty tough. If you want to remove it you use a craft knife to split it apart. It's a really good innovation and I want to use it to make small pads under items that can scratch surfaces, like ornaments etc.

Magic, extremely useful.
Sugru is an unbelievable product. Easy to use and gives great results. It is in a way like silicon, just much less sticky and more easy to handle and shape... also it does not irritate the skin, although you are recommended to clean your hands thoroughly after use. It is a few weeks since I repaired my frayed Apple charger cable with the white sugru and I can say it is really fit for purpose, soft, flexible, robust. The only thing I can recommend is to clean your hands well, especially when using the white one as lint and debris can be quite apparent. Also planning a shape beforehand is a good thing, maybe using some tools to achieve a smooth and regular shape, as it is not easy to avoid the "handmade" finger-imprinted look otherwise (as you can see on the pictures). It does really take 12-24 hours to solidify, so keep it in a protected and clean place to set to get the best results.

Not very useful
Bought a pack when it was on offer and thought I'd give it a try. Overall I'm left a bit disappointing as the uses seem to be very limited. First thing I tried it on was a white shelf inside the fridge. I think this is the best use - to fix things that cannot be replaced. It's just fiddly to try a mould it and you'll never be able to get it smooth and flat with your hands once applied. Not sure if it's possible to sand it somehow but it will be tricky to make it look good on anything people can see. But anyway, I stuck it on my plastic fridge shelf which had a crack in it.... and it didn't work. It never seemed to set properly and never held the shelf. Shame as this seems to be one of the example uses. Another thing I used it on was a metal bracket I have on my wall which holds an item in place. I wrapped this around the end of the metal bracket so it doesn't scratch and damage things and so it is less sharp. This is the only use I found that kind of worked. But again, I could've just as easily used something else and didn't specifically need Sugru. This is the only time it set properly and stayed in place but even then it doesn't feel solid. I think I could pull or break it off if I used force. I see a lot of people are using it to fix or reinforce charger cables. Personally I don't see the use in this as for the full price or a few quid more of a pack of Sugru you could but a stronger braided charger cable which would be a lot better and stronger. In the end I had a few packs that I just left to go out of date unopened as I couldn't find a use for it. Due to only wanting to use it in places where it will work and set, I found the uses very limited and could find a use for the rest. So overall. Might be useful in some situations, but the uses are nowhere near as far and wide as the manufacturer makes out.

After drying fully the crack easily widens and so it compromised the wire protection plan
Bought it for the classic "covering iPhone charging cables" usage... tested it first on an old cable and was an okay result. Make sure to wash hands before to avoid dirt sticking to it and smooth it down to avoid fingerprints (I used a white one and forgot to do both...) and also do not touch before it is quite set! I flexed one end of the cable after about 8 hours (using half a 5g pack on each end, so it was not a particularly thick patch) and it was half rubber/half putty - it cracked. After drying fully the crack easily widens and so it compromised the wire protection plan. The other end was great though! =) The sticking strength is not amazing... as could be expected. On one end I made contact with sucru and the charging cable end on 3 sides (ie: top, the wire facing side, and the bottom) and it holds incredibly well... the other end I tried a more stylish 1-sided approach. I only added sucru to the cable and the side of the USB connector facing the wire... it can come off with some flexing and effort to remove it - though I am pretty sure with normal use it would be fine! In general - 5 stars because (1) allowing it to dry fully (2) ensuring decent sucru-to-surface contact and (3) washing hands first, makes it a pretty great wire protector!

Superb, a game-changer.
I looked at the Sugru website on a recommendation from someone and saw that it is not only a really versatile product but it comes from a very decent company. I urge you to look at the site to see the versatility of this stuff. I used most of the pack almost immediately and I keep seeing things around the house that I could fix or hack to make them better. OInce you start seeing things through sugru goggles you'll realise that you do actually own all the stuff in your life and you can make it better. To think of it simpluy as a repair item is to miss the poit slightly though it will do that admirably. A Logitech keyboard I bought for my iPad caused a couple of scratches to the screen when in a rucksack, rather than throw the keyboard out (it's otherwise excellent) I modified it with a couple of blobs of sugru to improve on the weedy rubber bumps that Logitech put there. I made my own adaptable bike light mount so I don't have to buy a bike light and a torch. I put insulating handles on my pasta pan handles so they stay cool and I can, more easily, move the pan to the sink. Once you start looking in a different way you'll see a hundred uses for this. If you are worried that it can't be saved once opened (try putting superglue or epoxy back in the tube) should just line up a couple of repairs at a time, you'll actually end up wondering where it's all gone and thinking about ordering the 100g pack.

Great product, where can i buy it in 10 lbs blocks..lol
OMG!! where has this stuff been all my life! Yes it is a little on the expensive side but for what it can do and does, its a great product to have!!! I just fixed my dads "TV EARS" with it, they are a wireless head set that is used for watching TV, by people with hearing problems. he is 90 and stubborn as a mule, hates his hearing aids so he'd rather crank the tv as load as it goes.. .lol so we got him the head set which works great but must be made out of recycled soda cup lids or plastic coffee stirring sticks because both "arms" snapped within one year. He used tape to hold them together but it was flimsy and weird looking plus with the thin, as cheaply made as the rest of the thing, wires running through the arms, it was only a matter of time before they broke as well. Enter Sugru! What a life saver. it works perfectly, holds strong and has a lot of flex and support. My only regret was not putting a small piece of wire or paper clip around the arms first, to help hold them stiff, then put the Sugru on over them. I was just afraid that the wire would end up poking through the Sugru over time but... oh well... it was my first ever time using this stuff so I was Naive, forgive me! maybe I will add them later if need be. but for now, this stuff is holding like a champ, I almost want to coat the whole item in Sugru to keep them from ever breaking again... well, I would if Sugru were cheaper...lol not that im knocking the price. its worth it but it is costly, same as a caddy is worth the price but not everyone can buy one or two or three! If you want quality, you have to pay for it! lol. Anyhow, Thanks Sugru, I will be looking for more uses in the future! you've made a life long fan!
