CCNA Security 210-260 Official Cert Guide

Good read..
I may have to wait and after reading it completely ; then write review. Nevertheless i am hardly finishing 7 pages where i learned something, which may be the point of concern about security of personal data and how companies view it. I read in the page 6 of this book:"Countermeasure....Note that te thresholds apply to how we classify things. We do not spend more than the asset is worth to protect it because doing so makes no sense..."The worrying part is the value of our data as far as companies are concern?

Essential for passing CCNA Security
I used this as a study guide for my CCNA security. Comes with test exams, as well as the standard pearson test prep software, definitely worth while for anyone planning on taking their CCNA Security.

Good book.
Not a bad book. Have everything needed to learn for the cert. You should also have other resources other than this to help you with the exams.

Don't waste your time or money on this book.
As an "Official Cert Guide" from Cisco, this completely fails to prepare you for the test. I took the test on May 24, 2018 and less than 15% of the question material in the test was covered in this book. After several weeks of reading the book from cover-to-cover twice, underlining, highlighting, taking notes down by hand, and taking the practice tests, I felt like I had prepared for an exam other than the 210-260. It was only my training from two other CCNA exams that propped up my knowledge to about 50% of what was tested, but even that was insufficient to pass.As a general introduction to CCNA Security without the pretense of helping you to pass the exam, I would have to say pass on this book. Very poorly written, terribly organized, multiple redundant sections server only to confuse and not to clarify. Unfortunately at this time, I am unable to recommend alternatives for either 1) help to pass the exam, or 2) good book which covers security fundamentals.

Inadequate
Very disappointed in this book - I passed the 210-260 exam last week with a score of 944, but I felt like this book gives little more than a rough guide to exploring just some of the topics that could be on the exam. This is the third time I have been certified for CCNA Security (I passed 640-553 in 2010, 640-554 in 2013 and now this one), and it seems to me that each time I've done it the official book gets lighter and lighter on the details needed to prepare you.Not only did I get questions on older subjects that I remember from 640-554 which are not in this book at all, but according to Keith Barker's CBT Nuggets videos (a great resource by the way), you need to revise subjects from the CCNP Security videos as well! Cisco seems to be deliberately making this cert unfair by not correctly listing all the exam topics. I also recommend Chris Bryant's videos on Udemy, which explain some of the topics on the exam far better than this book does. You will also need real world experience of the technologies covered in the exam, or a home lab you can use to configure equipment yourself (physical if you can afford it, or a virtual lab with GNS3 if you can’t).Worst of all, this book isn’t even a completely original piece of work. In chapter 3 on page 41 it begins saying “The good news is that most of what you learned in the preceding chapter about AAA on the router still applies here”. I thought that’s odd, because this is the first mention of AAA. So I went back to my Cisco 640-554 book, and was shocked to find in chapter 7 the same thing written word for word! Page 41-66 in this book has ripped an exact copy from page 143-170 out of the 640-554 book. You can spot other examples where they have reused the old content too, as the code extracts reference a firewall called ‘Keith-asa1’ (Keith Barker co-authored the old book). So I have paid Cisco twice for the same content. Shameful.

Not enough for passing exam
Unlike CCNA R&S, this book does not provide all informations needed to pass the exam. This book provides basic informations about exam topcis, but for passing exam, you have to dig deeper
