I would say that it's medium, certainly firmer than an oral b brush head.

Fairly soft as individual hairs, but together hard which they need to be to get in between teeth, gums and particularly the hard to reach places.

I would say this brush is quite hard. But for me it's excellent. You need to brush downwards, top teeth, from the top of your gums to the bottom of the tooth, not crossways, then do the same with the insides. It gets rid of the plaque which causes gum disease and bad breath. I've got rid of my electric toothbrush, just an ordinary brush first, then this. Love it.
