BASE WASH, High Performance Deodorising Sports Fabric Cleaner & Conditioner, Cleans & Inhibits Odour Build-up

Leaves a nice refreshing smell and appears to prolong the freshness feel of the garments. No noticeable loss thermodynamics/ efficiency of fabric after multiple uses. Ideal fro washing other tech fabrics ie Coolmax, under-armour tee-shirts, underwear etc.. In fact anything that is not waterproof or wind resistant material (use tech wash). I use this for my first and second layer technical clothing only including underwear. Its just the cost that makes using this liquid expensive per wash cycle, especially If you only have a few items. I use mine direct in the drum using a spare plastic ball/lotion container from other well known liquid soap suppliers. I find it is best to use directly inside the drum. Ideal just a little expensive so keep for your technical material/more expensive clothing. Although to u.se a semi-full load I have used with standard clothing with similar results. Not essential for technical clothing care but you do notice the difference in feel between using this and bog-standard washing solutions. a long lasting freshness is a great feeling when using the garment especially after 3+ days with no shower. i.e. wild camping..

As about 90% of what I wear is some form of polyester, this stuff comes in very useful. For all the people who don't know what this does, it clears all the little spaces between the threads that ordinary washing powders & liquids block up, so when you sweat the droplets of moisture passes through the polyester out into the air and makes the fabric breathable. It says that you should put 50ml in and wash two garments at a time, but I just fill the drawer in the washing machine up to the top and put about 15 t-shirts in. It's more expensive than ordinary washing powder/liquid, but who wants to wear sweaty non-breathable polyester t-shirts.

Excellent product for base layers, refreshes them and makes them feel almost like new again after a wash.

Prime delivery the next day. I have used this product previously and rate it 10/10. It does what it says and washes 'next to skin' technical clothing better than anything else I know. I use it on Rohan, Paramo and Tilley clothing, excellent!

It works but I am not sure it works better than non bio detergents but I have so much invested in high tech clothing I will stick with it. It is certainly not cheap.

Great product, used this for years on my sports clothing, hiking baselayers and socks. What I really like is on multi day walks I can wear the same garment the following day and any odour has dispersed.

It seems either the formulation has changed or this is a poor quality batch that slipped through the net. This has been my go-to product for washing most of my sports gear & base layers for years now. I’ve tried other brands & have always come back to NikWax Basewash. This latest batch, though, seems to have a slightly different smell when neat & definitely a much weaker smell left on the clothes after washing. It doesn’t seem to foam as much in the machine either, though this doesn’t always equate to a weaker cleaning ability, often it just means less foaming agent in a product. I also find this batch more watery/less thick. I get the impression I need to use more of it per wash than I used to. I used to rate it as 5 stars, but have dropped down to three because I preferred things the way they were. Others might prefer a weaker scent, but I liked the clean freshness of it. I’ve only used this batch for a few washes so far, so it’s hard to determine the overall cleaning ability. If it’s as good as before, I’ll upgrade my review to 4 stars. If not, however, it’ll be losing stars…

outstanding. gets Merino wool, capilene, polyester, all synthetics clean. no odor. no wear & tear on the fabric. Hey, this stuff has to go through British customs to fly Royal Air Mail, but is worth the wait.
