It’s a Stalogy
You’re either a Stalogist or you’re not fussed, or you’ve never tried one. If you are already a convert then all I can add is that this size is incredibly cute (or incredibly functional if you’re more serious and want it as a convenient notebook to carry around). If you’ve tried and enjoyed an A6 Hobonichi, this is an alternative. I love Hobos but the availability and cost can be prohibitive. And not to say that Stalogy is merely its poor alternative! No! I’ve come to love Stalogys too. If you’re new to them, be warned that Stalogy & Hobonichi notebooks ghost, a lot. You either love that, tolerate that, or hate that. The thin but good quality paper (no bleed) is what helps pack a lot of pages into a relatively light/thin notebook.

the perfect little black book
Wonderful little notebook. The A6 size is perfect for me (although I have quite a small handwriting and I use a 0.38mm tip pen to write in it). The faint grid is just barely visible, which serves its purpose of providing some structure without showing up too much and competing with one's handwriting. It's true that the dates on top are in tiny font and very light, but I don't mind this at all... it's because of this, that I can ignore them all together if I wish to do so on the pages where I am only taking notes which are not related to any date. Then I can simply write on top of them and it is not looking odd at all to do so. The paper is absolutely marvellous - it has less shadowing than Tomoe River and is slightly more matte, but overall the most similar to it that I could find. Until now no pen of mine (gel, marker or fountain pen) has bled trough the pages and because they are so thin the whole notebook is slim enough to not seem too bulky - although it has 368 pages! Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and will continue to buy this notebook, although it is rather on the pricey side...

Only use these note books!
This is my go to brand for notebooks. Wanted the smaller size for travelling and on-the-go. Paper is so soft and thing but doesn't bleed! Lays flat after a little use and totally able to customise for preferred use. i BuJo and jurnal so get the best of both worlds!

Great wee pocket notebook
I bought this because I wanted a notebook I could have on the go with me and that I could grab quickly to jot down thoughts, quotes, things to read, topics of interest, etc. like a commonplace book. It had to be thick and easy to grab. The pages had to lie flat, it had to be flexible to handle, and it couldn’t be lined. I find lines too constraining, so it was either a bullet page or squares. I have many bullet journals and I love them but I use them solely for my daily routine and it’s incredibly organised and the writing is very neat and minimalistic for obvious reasons. I use a fully lined journal for my mind journalling and figuring my problems out, and stream of consciousness when trying to empty my mind.. For this reason, it’s very formal. I write neatly and cursively in this. I wanted to try something out where there was something on the page but where I didn’t feel as constrained or panicked,, so I decided to try the squares. I haven’t been disappointed. It’s a perfect bridge between the abandon of blank pages and a fully lined page. The Stálogy gives me permission to be a bit messier and I can start where I want on a page. I know this is entirely subjective, but that’s how I view it. I just jumped right in. There was no panic of ‘what do I do now?’ A blank page can instil fear in the most rational of people! Not so with this. I have been very scrappy with it. I just jot down things I’m thinking at random points in the day, or if I’m watching, listening or reading something, I pop down things of interest. I love that I can be messy with it and it’s very freeing. The paper quality is lovely and smooth and I was surprised that the ink in my pen didn’t bleed through. Yes, I can see it through the paper, but it doesn’t bleed. I use a Paper Mate Flair: Ultra Fine for both this and my bullet journals because of their fine tip, which is crucial on small squares, bullets, or lines. I expected bleedthrough given it’s a felt-tip pen but I have been pleasantly surprised. However, I have one or two issues with it, and they are minor: 1. I really struggle to see the day/month/date at the top. It’s so tiny. There’s a lot more white space to work with and it would be great if they could enlarge the text just a bit and use more of that space. 2. The paper is slightly thin. I don’t feel it would need to be thickened too much, as I understand the need to balance the weight of the paper with the weight of the book overall. Honestly, I can live with it as it is, but for presentation (only to myself) it would be nice not to see the writing overleaf. I would give the book a 4.5/5 but the option isn’t there. Honestly, I would still buy more as it’s a lovely little book.

Ideal notebook for fountain pens and on-the-go writing
This is honestly the perfect notebook series if you're looking for tomoe river like notebooks at a reasonable price and easily available, with more functionality. Unlike tomoe river paper, this paper feels solid and not prone to crinkling. The binding is great and the feint numbers and dates are subtle enough to fade away but clear enough to use as a planner system. The grid fades away once you write on the page, so it looks almost like plain paper which I liked. It feels solid as a notebook, I can shove it in my bag or a pocket without concern, and it takes fountain pens perfectly with no smearing or bleeding. Ink dries quickly, I could use watercolour with no problems, and the ghosting is there but way more subtle than tomoe river notebooks. I love it, and am planning on getting the B6 version for my next bujo after my current tomoe river one!

The best notebook.
The best notebook. I have no doubt about it. Paper, printing, layout of the page at the highest level. Keep this in mind that there are also A6 versions with a width of 90 mm, not 105 mm. This version is 105 × 148 mm / 4.1 × 5.8 in.

THE WORLDS BEST NOTEBOOK
I have over 100 notebooks (it’s a sickness) but this is by far the best one A5 size the pages are very nice to write on, do not bleed and the book is flexible to open. It also survives heavy use. The best of the best.

Tried all combinations of well behaved inks, pens and Nib combo. But there a ton of bleedthrough. Very disappointing experience with the product given it says it’s fountain pen friendly.

Very good quality paper, high quality binding, small but just enough space on each page to work well as a habit tracker, I use mine as a diet tracker and it works very well for that. Just small enough to fit in one of the smaller pockets in my bag like it was built for it, too.
