I’ve been using Paula’s Choice skincare for many years. CALM Ultra-Gentle Cleanser has quickly become a staple in my skincare routine. I have sensitive skin that can easily become irritated, and finding a cleanser that effectively removes dirt and sunscreen without leaving my skin dry or tight has always been a challenge. This cleanser truly lives up to its “calm” name. The texture is a soft, lightweight gel that glides effortlessly over the skin and rinses off easily without any residue. It cleanses thoroughly while maintaining my skin’s moisture barrier, which is something I really appreciate. There’s no harsh stripping effect, no tightness afterward—just clean, refreshed skin that feels balanced. Another standout feature is how soothing it is. If my skin is feeling irritated or reactive, this cleanser helps calm it down instead of making things worse. There’s no added fragrance, which is a plus for sensitive skin, and the formula feels thoughtfully made for those prone to redness or dryness. OMG! This stuff is fantastic. It is so soft and gentle yet highly moisturizing. It smells lovely, too. 11/14/25: Just bought a second bottle. The first one was very difficult to squeeze one-handed to get a bit on a wash cloth in my other hand but I managed. This second bottle is totally IMPOSSIBLE to squeeze one-handed. I have to lay the cloth down and squeeze the bottle with both hands!! This bottle needs to be redesigned to make it function properly. I wish I had saved my old bottle so I could pour the new bottle into the old.

The way it slightly suds up, makes me think of a cheaper cleanser. There’s a slight scent but, again, making me think it was a knock-off. It’s true, a little goes a long way (not much more than a dime). I have sensitive, mature, rosacea skin. It doesn’t burn my face but doesn’t entirely wash off dirt and oil. I had to use it twice as long the next time. Only then was my face feeling clean.

I just started using this a few weeks ago and my skin is now in the best condition of my life. After a very steep price hike in my typical cleanser that I refused to pay, I decided to try something different. I stumbled upon Paula’s Choice brand and saw all the great reviews so gave it a try. I have acne-prone sensitive combination both oily and dry skin (with big pores) so it’s hard to find quality products that don’t trash my skin with acne, or make me oily or dry. This cleanser really does the job well. It does NOT strip your skin at all nor does it leave any coating or residue whatsoever. The cleanser itself has the best texture ever and you feel so clean afterwards. It’s a tad pricy but it’s worth it because a little bit goes a long way and it lathers up real nice. For example, a dime sized amount can clean my face, ears, neck, chest, and back. The bottle is also decently sized. I am happy to have found this product and am going to continue using it and possibly trying other items from this brand.

It is marketed as ultra gentle and it really is extremely gentle. Very good as a facial wash. It is simply the most gentle wash I have used. I hope that it continues to feel as gentle and yet cleansing.

This has a thick milky consistency. I have dry, hypersensitive skin (both eczema and rosacea), and I found that this actually makes my face burn when I move on to the toner and moisturizing step. I've tried every product from this line and they are all awful. They do not help with dry and sensitive skin. I found the Recovery line (red bottle) to be far superior. Eventually, I switched to the Avene oil cleanser because this stuff hurt too much to use. I used it for about 3 months and my face burned every time. Mind you, I only wash my face with cleanser every 2-3 days because it is so harsh and my face can't handle daily cleansing in general.

I feel like this "gentle" cleanser is actually a gentle cleanser. crazy right. other gentle cleansers can leave my face dry or tight feeling and I can just tell my skin isn't doing well. or its super gentle and I don't feel like it cleaned?? but this is perfect. its expensive but it lasts me like 5ish months. you only need a dime sized amount like in picture and it works for my whole face and chest. my face feels clean and hydrated after and I am a repeat buyer. I would recommend this for people with sensitive skin.
