I give him about an inch or two every two or three days depending on his stools (the harder the stools the more frequent the dose) he has had katalax regularly for years and has no problems it helps him with his bowel movements and reduces the amount of hairballs he regurgitates. Katalax is made from white soft parafin, cod liver oil and malt which are all natural ingredients, it must be the fish flavour that drives him crazy for it. **Q: Does katalax go off once opened. This is a malt based paste that is put firmly on the back of a cats paw to force it to lick it off. From the reaction of my cats, it tastes awful!! Why do they think cats like malt?? It helps to ease hair 'bullets' through the stomach and after 3 days motions are very loose and hair is helped out of the cats stomach. Its the best product out there as I've tried them all. Each cat is individual, so what works for one cat can give another cat the runs, so it is trial and error.
