Okay so we love using this! We have a lot of fun inviting friends and family over for raclette or Korean bbq dinners. Most of the time, it works really well, but the heating cycle is a little awkward at times. When it's gotten to temp, it'll stop heating but it cools too quickly and the top will just stop cooking. It comes back soon-ish but there's always that moment where I'm afraid I broke it. Otherwise it stays flat, it transports easily, it seems durable, and cleaning it is pretty easy! We've had a lot of fun and delicious dinners with this. I would rate it a 4.5 if I could but with the weird heat cycle, I can't give it a 5.

If you like a fondue in the old days, this Raclette will send you to the moon! It serves 4 people with the grill on top. Heats up fast, and below the grill are handles for raclette cheese, or any other cheese you want to melt over vegetables, slices of beef, chicken, fish or any food to grill on top. Having grilled mushrooms, peppers and scallions for example on a toasted baguette is incredible when the cheese slides out of the raclette holder onto the food. Love this and it's easy to clean, fun to use, you can eat whatever you grill and add whatever cheese you love, as you sit around the table and chat and enjoy! I recommend this Raclette with 10 stars.

I made a raclette meal utilizing this “Geneva” grill and the “Matterhorn”, a larger grill for 8. Many reviewers state the size of the grills are too small for number of persons indicated, and I agree with that assessment. I had first ordered the “Matterhorn” only. After unpacking it I thought there’s no way 6 people can comfortably grill their stuff on this, especially since one is vegetarian. I had bought some little sausages for grilling along with potatoes, bread, and veggies. There wouldn’t have been enough space to separate those from meat. So I additionally ordered the Geneva grill and used it just for the sausages. This worked out great. The meal was a big hit with everybody. A few days later I had a friend over and I used the Geneva grill for the two of us. She also loved this meal! I can see using this grill to make meals that don’t even involve cheese. It may not be very Swiss, but then… you have to make it work for you and make it fun!

We love raclette. We had been using the larger Swissmar model for 15 years! It's been through countless raclette family dinners and parties. Now that we're empty nesters, we needed a smaller raclette machine to better suit our needs. We initially tried the ones that use votive candles, but those just took too long to generate enough heat to melt the cheese. We decided to go back to our trusted Swissmar brand and got this smaller version. Easy to setup, heats up quickly, and easy to clean. I love the corner placement of the tray handles as it feels less cramped when using adjacent trays. The size is just perfect -- great for two or with a friend or two. It's a winner just like our old one that worked like a champ!

Really enjoyed this raclette. Only downfall is that I wish we could slow down the melting cheese while still keeping grill hot. Here is only 1 heat controller. I'm sure we will get the hang of how to use it best. Great for 4 people.

My daughter and I used it on Christmas Eve and it was perfect for two persons. Maybe a little bit slow for cheese to melt in comparison to a bigger unit, but the cooking plate is very nice, we cooked some beef, onions and mushrooms on it. We enjoyed it and we ate well.
