Mastercook 2 Sided Electrical Multi Cooker Hot Pot and Steamboat Heating Base

Good product, we already used it several times for Chinese Hotpot. It is easy to use, works very well and also easy to clean. We love it!

We went on holiday to China and eating hotpot was a highlight of the trip. It is a very social, fun and healthy (depending on what you put in it!) meal.We were keen to get a hotpot to try and cook one at home and I scoured the internet for something suitable. There seem to be several that have an extra grilling section on the top, I think this might be more for south east asia style hotpot cooking. This was the best one that I could find that met all my requirements.I wanted one with two sections as I prefer a spicier sauce than my wife.I also wanted one which had a variable temperature. The two button controls are not initially intuitive but it doesn't take long to work out that you have two settings, one for keeping it warm and the other for full power cooking. I find both settings a little too fierce. The full power setting is great for getting it up to temperature but will leave it cooking at a vigorous boil unless you turn it to the lower setting. The lower setting is still a bit too high though. Not a huge problem as you can just turn the switch to 'off' and back on to 'low' as needed. Better tuned temperature settings would be great, perhaps a dial so it could be adjusted with more granularity.The lead that comes with it is not particularly long and we have to get the extension lead out when we want to use it. Again, not the end of the world. Just a mild inconvenience.Cleaning it is not a problem at all. The stainless steel surface wipes clean easily. This may be because we have never let it run dry, I imagine if all your liquid in your hotpot had run out the heat might stain any lingering food to the bottom of the pan.The metal itself is not particularly thick. It was a lot lighter than it looks. I would not say it is flimsy though. Perfectly adequate.Although we tend to use one side of the cooker per person you could probably share a side with someone if needed. I am actually tempted to buy a second one so that we can enjoy hotpot with friends and family.Although I have not tried it, I wonder if this could be used to serve food from whilst keeping it warm. I could imagine having a selection of indian curries in this for example if you had a curry evening. Potentially the 'keep warm' setting would be too hot?For the money I think it is good, probably a bit too expensive for a non-branded product. Having looked extensively I couldn't find anything better out there.Overall, I'd recommend this. We've used it several times and have no major complaints.

Used it for the first time the other night. Was fun. It kepe the two sides separate which was important for us as some of people were vegetarians. However, the hotplate is difficult to control. You only get two functions, hot or medium hot. By the end of the night, food got stuck where the hot plate connected to the pot, which in reality wasn't too difficult to clean but food got burnt. It did not come with the accessories that it is pictured with. Only the lid and cord. It was fun but not really sure it was worth the cost. There was nothing like it in Italy so I paid more to have it available here.

Very pleased, cant agree with others that say it is difficult to clean. Temperature control works well and the utensils are great. Generally very pleased after 3 sessions

The media could not be loaded.  I recently purchased this product for a week and I just used it for one. However, the 2 sides of the pan changed to different colour. It looks like a rainbow. You can look at the pictures.Ridiculously, It costs £80 and It’s not worthy.I would like to have a quickest response from you regarding to this issue and I hope that I do not need to make further complaints about it to the Amazon service!!Thank you for your cooperation!!

This product is great! Used a number of time for hotpot now for two. The separate sides are very useful if you want to have a different style in each. Very easy to clean and regulate the heat as well.

Thin, difficult to clean as food lodged at corners of divider..Needed to use small brush and then not properly clean.Have now discarded this. NOT RECOMMENDED!.
