Product Description This device plugs into the multi-pin socket found on the back of Sky HD boxes that have no RF2 output. It provides an RF output for RF based viewing at multiple TV locations. It also enables Infra Red control via the TV Link Sky Eye / Magic Eye type IR controllers that use the RF2 socket. Please be aware that the RF output is an analogue signal not a digital (Freeview) type. To adjust the RF output channel press the [SERVICES] button and then press [0] [0] [1] then [SELECT]. Nothing will be shown on the TV screen until you press the Select button. You can then use the [RIGHT] arrow button on the remote until the RF OUT menu is shown and press SELECT to change the values. Adjust the RF channel number as required and make sure you set RF Outlet Power Supply to ON . Box Contains io link

Did the job
You'll need one of these if you plan on using a Magic eye / Sky Remove TV Link with the new Sky+HD boxes as there is no RF-Out port. Some sticking points I found when setting this up:- You have to enable RF-Out on the Sky settings (Google a guide, there is a special key combo you have to press to get to the hidden menu - 003 on the Settings screen).- Make sure the aerial cable you're using is pre-cut / sealed at each end. I tried cutting my own length of co-axial cable and putting the ends on but it did not carry the power to the Magic eye. You can test if the cable is causing issues by plugging the magic eye directly into the I/O Link - if the red light comes on for the Magic eye then it's the aerial cable that needs replacing.Problems aside, it's great once it's setup!

Fixes the problem. Thank you :-)
If (like me) you had an original Sky Box with a coaxial in/out socket that you used for a multi-room solution, you may have been somewhat distressed when you received a multi-room box without the sockets. Suddenly our upstairs TV which had been reliant on "out" connection from the Sky Box was no longer there. After a brief cry and some soul searching, I was ready to move on. But on off-chance, I did a Google search and found that you can use the Global I/O socket (??) in the back with one of these guys. For the money, I figured I'd take a punt, and I'm glad I did. It was one of those "work out of the box" solutions! I didn't have to retune or change any settings on the Sky box either. Even the remote control works as expected.I wouldn't think twice about reccomending this product to those lost souls with a small Sky box!

GREAT LITTLE PIECE OF KIT AT A SMALL PRICE.
I was one of the people who were caught when I got sky back again after being without it for about 8 years as I was getting Freeview through it anyway but the Sky Cinema caught my eye and I decided to get back into it again. I also wanted to be able to change the channels independently from the other room. The long shot was, I ended up with a new Sky Dish, two new Sky Boxes and I was set to go BUT with the new boxes now, they HAVEN'T got a RF Modular Signal Out build in to them anymore as the installer kindly told me. So I had to buy this beauty of a gadget. After I received it, I read the simple instructions, plugged it in, re-tuned the second T.V and boom it worked a treat. It simple plugs into the I/O port on the back of the Sky Box.

If Your Skybox has no RF outlet..
We just upgraded our Sky box to a larger (1TB) disk drive. There was no RF outlet on the back but an Internet search told me that this I/O link would plug into the back of the box. Connect this to the socket - there is only one it will fit - and job done... We now watch Sky on our kitchen TV by running an aerial cable from the I/0 to the Magic Eye for Sky that we purchased at the same time. This connection needs to be tuned into an alalogue channel., We also have the Mini FASHION TRUE HD Digital DVB-T Terrestrial tuner into the freeview via the scart on the kitchen TV that enables us to watch a different channel to the Skybox. Great little gadget.

Who needs an RF2 Socket on a Sky HD Box?
When I realised that our new Sky HD Box didn't have an RF2 Output socket, it looked like there would no television on our second set. That was until I found this little gem on Amazon which did exactly what I needed, allowing me to take the signal from the IO Port and feed to the other TV.The setup detail that came with the item was excellent with a diagram showing how it works. The step by step instructions on how to change the channel the picture is sent on and how to enable power for the magic eye on the second TV were so easy to follow, meaning I had it working in a couple of minutes.I highly recommend this very reasonably priced bit of kit.

In fairness the sky engineer recommended it (but only after i chased him about it)
I bought the i/o link in july when i up graded my sky because the new HD box didn`t allow the tv`s upstairs to work without it!! In fairness the sky engineer recommended it (but only after i chased him about it). It has allowed all the tv`s in the house to work but just make sure you make some minor change`s to your sky box setting`s. P.S It is cheaper than buying through sky direct.

Great little device but...
I bought this I/O link when my old sky box in the conservatory packed up and sky installed a new box without the RF output port. It's a great device and it worked first time when I installed it because I had already configured the new box to output to the link. The only problem I have with it is the cost! Sky sell these for £25 and Maplin sell them for £29.99. Both were out of stock, so I trawled the internet to find one, and this one was available on Amazon. It's obviously priced at this level because every other retailer was out of stock. I was prepared to pay extra to acquire one quickly, but I think nearly double the cost of the Sky link is a bit much.

Valuable purchase
I have just upgraded my sky box and bought this device as I have another TV connected by aerial cable.Luckily I followed the very good advice and tips in the reviews to alter the settings on the sky box regarding output and power to theRF outlet. The instructions with the device were also helpful, the most difficult part I found was tuning the TV.
