Eden External Aquarium Filter 511 (120 Litres)

This has served me well for the last year on an 15 gallon tank. However due to the fact it needs to be level with the tank it can be unsightly.

I upgraded my Eden 501 to this one as my previous filter gave me no problems. It is great at filtering waste and very powerful on full flow. It is adjustable with the flow rate which is a bonus. The only reason I dropped a star is the fact that the replacement media is not listed on Amazon and is very difficult to find anywhere.Update I can't recommend this filter at all because the sponges can't be obtained anywhere.

I have owned a multiple filters (Tetra EX1200, Fluval 307 and Fluval FX6, Eheim Biomax etc.) and will say without a shadow of a doubt that this is the most convoluted design I have ever seen.The pieces are made of questionable quality - the hooks latch on and refuse to come off and if they do, they show breakage marks.The 'instructions' were not the easiest, when you have to look to YouTube for guidance, that says it all.Nothing to do with the seller, but there is a reason that this isn't a 'main brand' in the UK and why the 'support videos' that I saw weren't in English.The only reason I brought this was because of the set up of the tank - the gaps weren't big enough to take the Fluval fittings.I can understand the premise of the Eden 511, especially when you want a small external filter, but it 's design (and parts) are poorly executed.If you can, get a Fluval 107.

this is a neat filter. nice and compact, looks good. comes with a spray bar and plenty of media.allows fitting of internal heater.my example runs very quietly but you can hear the thermostat of the optional heater upgrade switching on if you decide to purchase it too.instructions could have been better. (it does not state that upon initial start up only, you cannot get automatic priming if you have the internal heater upgrade installed. without the heater you simply top up via the fill cap and off you go).i just wish the hang on bracket would come in the box as standard.please note that this filter is designed to be placed behind or hung on your tank and not placed underneath in a cabinet.

Seems well made good flow rate plenty room for different media's

I had a Fluval 502 8efore - these Eden filters take sometime to get used to and I have had a few mis-haps. I would 8uy Fluval.
